The shows producers pick the music and they don't always pick songs that "go with" the style of dance. Her dances are good though.

um yes they do! just because they aren't dancing to incoherent spanish songs doesn't mean that the song doesn't go with the dance. The Fallout Boy song that they did their tango to (it's called "The Take Over, The Breaks Over") did go with the dance.

hope that you know that the stars are not trained for ballroom dancers thats why they have the pros teaching them. Also this is ballroom samba but the steps are very basic. if you critique this yes her voltas are bouncy but have in mind shes not pro and only has a week to learn the dance so shes not learning technique shes just learning a dance

I understand in a week is really hard to learn ... but I do not see either the basic steps but this very well as freestyle ... here in Brazil balroom samba is called "gafiera"

there are with the first minute i saw shadow portafogos, grande chasse,promenades,samba walk, maypole. all very basic steps. aslo you should see that she has a confidence issue that made her dance not as strong as it should be

You guys should see "Rodrigo e Carol quebrando tudo no samba" it's a good example of samba de gafieira and samba no pé, Brazilian balroom samba is a mix of both...and is completely different from international ballroom samba dances...guys, PLEASE dont dance girly samba, try to not move the hips as much as the girl! I was supporting Helio, but I liked the Cameron and Edyta's dance better, cause it shows a bit of capoeira and the music and the costumes were awesome!!

My, my, someone is very full of herself! I watched the video you recommended. It looked quite amateurish to me. I have seen professional ballroom competitions, both in the U.S. and Europe, and I this dance wasn't of that quality.

Well, that depends. It is ballroom competition samba. It isn't the national dance of Brazil. This is a ballroom competition, not a festival or carnival. Helio & Julianne's samba this season was much more like the dance people perform all over Brazil, including in the streets. Jennie and Derek were giving these judges what they expected to see.
