actually, manning doesn't change the plays, he calls them.... if you've read tony dungy's books, Quiet Strength and Uncommon you'd know this... he states in it that the OC just gives him an idea as to what they want to do, then manning breaks the huddle and calls it at the line.
@whiitekimchi Thats why at the quarterback challenge he threw the ball 1 yard short of Brady's 67 yard strength ... Peyton doesn't throw a perfect spiral all the time which leads to his balls falling short, but sometimes he can totally nail it for over 70 yards.

but he's also supposed to make motions that are useless to confuse the defense. say it's an obvious run, and the defense has multiple guys in the box to stop the run, peyton would make a fake audible to make the defense think he wants to avoid the big guys in the middle, and they change their defense to counter a PA or such, when it's really still a run. I'm not taking anything away from peyton, he's an amazing QB, it's just that you're both right.
Real awesome. There's a mockumentary about Joe Montana on here as well. You can see all the commercials on the NFL website - I've been seeing a different one every weekend.

peyton doesnt have the greatest arm yea. but he is so smart, he can read the defense good and he knows (most of the time) when to pass the ball
