The State mandates car insurance why not health insurance too? My answer as I see it: Mandatory car insurance (liability) is to cover the other person not yourself. There is not State mandatory full coverage insurance or comprehensive car insurance. Apples and oranges, no? What does reason say?
First Minnesota elects a professional wrestler as its governor, and then it makes a comic/liberal talk show host its senator. I always thought the mid-west was full of down-to-earth folk. Guess I was proven wrong.
@edvhou812 I think what got the ball rolling was when the United States elected a BAD ACTOR to the presidency (Ronald Reagan) and followed it up with a blatant Corporate Dynasty (Bush and Shrub) and a skirt-chaser who couldn't keep it in his PANTS (Clinton).
Conservatives are finally upset They didn't get mad when: A conservative said "Deficits don't matter!" The President went on vacation for a month only after he had 6 months of office. A covert CIA operative got outed. Patriot Act got passed. We illegally invaded a country that posed no threat to us. We spent over 2,000 Billion+ on said illegal war. Over 10 billion dollars just disappeared in Iraq. We were torturing people.
A major US city, New Orleans, drowned because National Guards were busy.
We gave a 900 billion tax break to the rich.
They finally got mad when the government decided that people in America deserved the right to see a doctor if they are sick. Yes, illegal wars, lies, corruption, torture, stealing your tax dollars to make the rich richer, are all okay with them, but helping other Americans. . .oh hell no!
People are propagandized into believing a not-for-profit healthcare insurance program is a scheme to remove hard-working folks from their hard-earned money, but they're not told how for-profit healthcare insurance companies funnel profits into Wall St's Casino where passive "investors" (who have nothing to do with the health care delivery system and no intention of reinvesting their "winnings" in health care) suck off billion$ in other people's hard earned money without effort & without sweat.
Every one knows that 911 was an inside job right? You see, the King James Version of the bible is really the word of God! The (kjv) bible tells us that we are living in Satan's kingdom. Thus, we are all going fulfill our moral duty and expose the father of all lies by posting the 911 was an inside job icon right?
America treats healthcare as a risk, while the rest of the civilized word treats it as a cost. That's why Americans pay twice as much for health services as the rest of the world, and get results that are no better.
There is no risk of getting sick. Disease does not care if people have health "insurance" or not. People get sick, they get care, and society pays the COST. Adding a layer of for-profit business to "manage the risk" is insanity.
@boltthrower1963 That's right, and guess who's paying for their federal health insurance? The US taxpayers!!!
They are spooning off of the very same type of health care for themselves, that they were telling us "no, we can't have that here in this country!" Get off of SOCIALIZED medicine, Congress! If you can't afford to insure your constituents, than we can't afford to insure you!

We didn't catch Bin Laden.

@saadasim Helping is a Christian thing to do. But it stinks of COMMUNISM to brainless Americans and since being a Christian is to hate communism...
So. What is a perk of CIVILIZATION to every other nation in the world the US considers communism and socialism.

And Republicans will fight to the death for it.

@getplaning You are correct as well. This is why health care should *NEVER, EVER* be a for-profit system!

@getplaning
I agree. I would rather die than have to get sick in America. Its sad but true.

will republican senators and congressmen repeal their own federal health insurance because it is supplied by the government?
