I remember going to CIF High Jump finals in 1993 and it seemed like 10 guys were jumping over 7'. It was a freaky year for High Jump. I jumped against a couple 5'10" tall High jumpers who jumped 7'2". The next year, 1994, Jeremy Fischer jumped a little over 7'4". I think the national record for HS is 7'5" or something close to that. The other guy who jumped 7'2" had no step. He would walk up, jog a little and then float in the air. Have it on tape. Maybe I'll post it on of these days :)

That's Dan Olsen. It's not a fake. The guy jumped 7'4'' in HS and was undefeated in D3 nationals for 4 years. He was always coming in when I was going out. Kid has unreal springs and the best in air form I have ever seen. Talk about getting your shoulders below your ankles at peak height. Incredible.
