I love Bette Davis. I have seen every movie, heard most every radio performance and the few remaining television performances. What an amazing talent. I shall always regret that I never had the chance to meet this incredibly talented woman. She was an actress of the highest degree and no one can or ever will be able to touch her!!!!!
This doesn't sound like Bette Davis or Gregory Peck to me. I know that Ida Lupino and Paul Henreid did a Lux Radio Theatre performance of Now, Voyager.
@JubalCalif I think that is the fault of the transcription discs these were recorded onto for rebroadcast. Sound enough like her to really enjoy the performance. Recording and radio had come to a certain degree of acceptable sound it surely was not up to the standards we appreciate today. I am thankful that any of these true amazing moments still survive as I am sure you are also.
I cannot thank you enough for this. I used to watch this movie at least a couple of times a month with my Grandmother, and I wish I could have listened to this with her. 'Don't let's ask for the moon.. We have the stars..'
I think we are hearing Bette Davis's natural New England accent here.

@combandpaper It is them, I checked. Bette Davis did quite a few of these plays apparently.

I second the emotion! These voices do NOT sound like Bette Davis or Gregory Peck to me either!
