I've studied (and still am studying) American Indian History. For the most part, this film is accurate. My only turn off is it features Ward Churchill who was convicted of research misconduct and "fabricating" his "research" on the smallpox blankets given to the Mandan Indians. THAT event was accidental. That said, I would never deny that the Indians were victims of a genocide. Overall, this film is accurate.

Thanks for posting this MUST WATCH Documentary, this goes great with Howard Zinn's book "The People's History of the United States" and his film "The People Speak". This Doc. should be seen before Graduation from High School.

So where do the First Nations go from here? What is the vision for the future? I guess as a person of mixed heritage that is one of my biggest concerns. I see a lack of vision and drive for the future. Nobody wants to speak about it. Why?

Caucasians and whites expanded globally by means of violence and not by peaceful negotiation. They used violence to grab whatever they wanted. The repercussions of this expansion activity are still strongly felt around the world. However, their naivety makes them wonder where all this violence comes from today. They themselves do not understand that violence and domination is to the Caucasian like water to the fish.

@brunnerwh Are there many examples of empires or colonies in history not having occurred or been maintained through violence? The Mesopotamian, Japanese, Chinese, Sumerian and other empires were all built by threat or bloodshed. That doesn't make anything right, it only illustrates the fact that humans can be violent.
