  • Pompous twats, a spelling mistake and a bit of wrong info and some go crazy and start ranting, grow up sh-t for brains what difference does it make to the music.

  • LOVE this version!

  • This delightful little song makes me sad. The words are sad, but the score is superb.

  • diana ross slepted with barry gordy and had his child. she and barry gordy did florence ballard bad. That is the reason i do not care for diana ross. it should never have change from the supremes to diana ross and the supremes. do i sound bitter, well i am not but it does show what greed and lust and selfishness can do to a person. SHAME ON YOU DIANA ROSS.

  • @7252christian Shame on you Diana Ross? When did this happen? Yesterday? No... around 45 years ago! She was young, silly, and easily influenced by whatever negative thing out there offering money, fame, and love. I highly doubt she is the same person you think she was 45 years ago. Are you? I am just sayin'. Give your fellow human beings a break sometimes.

  • @7252christian PATHETIC!! Not only did all that crap happen 40+ years ago, you cant even get names right! Who the fuck is BARRY Gordy?...possibly BERRY Gordy's brother?...cousin? And go learn something about Diana Ross other than the negativity you THINK you know about her! IMBECILE!!

  • come on people...let's face it...with all due respect to the Supremes...but the Funk Brothers made the groove, not the artists who sang on these amazing tracks

  • the Supreme's were riding HIGH on top of world charts.....then It happened FLORENCE BALLARD got fired....suddenly it happen...the happening!

  • you can really hear florence ballards voice in this cut

  • LISTEN TO FANTASIA- HOOD BOY,........ SAMPLED THIS

  • 1:56 to 2:07 you can hear that unmistakable Supremes flava!

  • I can really hear Florence Ballard here. Thanks

  • f devol did the music for the tv show a family affair, and the brady bunch show

  • Holy ear candy Batman--this even sounds great without Diana Ross singing the lead!

  • The next time one of those silly, uninformed "Ross as a solo act" fans try to say that Diane WAS The Supremes, refer them to this sight................Diane who???????

  • Love this track!!! Just bought "Standing in the Shadows of Motown" [Deluxe Edition] by Funk Brothers but this isn't on it. Would also like "Baby Love" any ideas? Help!

  • What a great bass line. James Jamerson was the best!

  • OMG!!! Where can I get this instrumental version? Any way I can get an mp3 version of it?

  • @PaulaAshleyRoxyAngel This is from "Motown Original Artist Karaoke" made for karaoke by the Singing Machine! You can find it online or at your fave record store or wherever karaoke is sold! BTW, this is off "Motown Original Artist Karaoke-I Just Want To Celebrate" with the Supremes on the cover! The song is on there!

  • @PaulaAshleyRoxyAngel Also, this song here was released in March 1967 as Motown 1107 and was written by Holland-Dozier-Holland & Frank DeVol

  • @yandrsupreme they made Martha and the vandellas sound great though. HEATWAVE & QUICKSAND wouldn't be the same withtout them

  • The andantes aren't on Heatwave and Quicksand. They are on much of the later songs, but not the earlier ones. Lukcily Martha had enough voice to carry a song without good backing.

  • The Happenin, WOO Woo! no Adantes on this one...Mary & Flo all the way!!! great track, thank you

  • That's cool. I have the single. It's a pity they didn't have that on the B side. In the 1970s they recorded a lot of B sides with instrumental versions and i used to like listening to those more than the vocal.

  • Me too... I guess because I'm a musician/ producer but I was a kid when this record came out. I was 6 yrs old

  • Fantasia took the beginning of this song and looped it into her song, Hood Boy

  • The Andantes were used to enrich the sound of ALL the acts at Motown. "Ross as a solo act" fans like to diminish the vocal contributions of Mary and Flo by throwing the Andantes in the faces of the fans of the legendary Supremes. The Andantes were there to enrich the sound of the entire group. As I recall, Diane was also a part of that group' therefore, her sound was enriched as well.

  • You are correct. The Andantes sung on more songs than we will ever know.

  • If it wasn't for James Jamerson & The Funk Brothers , there would have been no Motown .

  • Hey idiots without Miss Diana Ross this song would never had been written by HDH because after 1964 everything was written for Diana and her wonderful backups the Supremes & later the talented Andantes. So get over it !!!

  • How refreshing to finally hear THE SUPREMES without Diane Hogging the microphone!

  • I have always always always loved this song - even though it was released in 1967 (and I was only 3 at the time) I dont even remember it!

  • To hear this was such a pleasant suprise. Know ing this was Florences' last release and then to be able to hear her and Mary without "Miss Thing".....is so cool!

  • Actually, Florence was also on "Reflections" and "In And Out Of Love." This was the last single released when she was still in the group.

  • Where's Deanna Rose?

  • Sounds happy and upbeat! I could so imagine this on a 60's cartoon.

  • Superb, thanks for posting, my fave Holland/Dozier production.

  • This is one of the greatest bass lines - I am just a beginner but I can play part of this and I can't wait to figure the entire thing out!

  • This song sounds fantastic WITHOUT Diana Ross leading it!

  • i love motown instrumentals this is great thanks 4 posting it

  • Thanx for posting!

  • does anyone know how to get all these supremes instrumental songs??? I would love them on cd from where did our love go to Someday we'll be together. If anyone can help me i would appreciate it.

  • best song ever EVER

  • thanks now I can sample this song a little better

  • can who ever did this do more ha

  • Love love LOVE Mary and Florence!

  • This is probably the first time I can actually hear Mary with the Supremes.

  • LOL - Your a poor, sick and lonely puppy

    That can't spell ;^D

  • What a great tin pan alley vibe this song has.

It has a big band sound with rockin' percussion and perfect background vocals.

Just add some Diana and it's another number one hit.

  • FRANK DEVOL did the music for this its awesome

  • True ... he somehow managed to blend together a movie soundtrack song without losing that Motown magic.

  • I love the instrumental =)

    thx a lot

  • fabulous - thankyou.

  • You are funny to a point.

But boring shortly after you've made your point.

I always enjoyed the vocal dynamics that those three girls created together ... it's what made it better than just a song with a lead singer on her own. So much better.

  • Thanks for that. One of the Supremes' most interesting songs.

  • It went to number one so you and I were not alone in that opinion.

    Thanks for your positive attitude.
