@shadowsai86 I wouldn't wrap CP soap like this. It needs to breathe so wrapping in paper is usually best. And Heat guns can be found at hardware stores or you can use an embossing gun which are found at craft stores.
@MarMarDance101 No you don't. It just seals them up a little bit more and makes the shrink wrap nice and wrinkle free. You can make it look really good without the heat gun though - just takes some patience.
@soapqueentv. Hey I'm 14 nd I just love watching your videos!! I'm working on my mom to start doing melt and pour. I've asked before to try cold process soap but my parents don't want me working with lye (they don't even want to work with it either). But anyways can you do maybe something refreshing for the upcoming summer months? Like something light for the warm weather, but not to smelly to be a bug magnet. Anyways I love ur vids. Give ur hedgehogs family my condolences.
I loved all your tutorials of soap, I am a first timer in the world of Soap. What brand and where did you buy your "heat gun", please? I love the color orange.
Hi! Would brambleberry consider selling those box patterns so we can make our own colored boxes out of construction paper? I, for one, would buy the patterns as a download!
@crystalrain1998 Hi there, Bramble Berry does have that cute little hedgehog mold - and it hasn't been out of stock recently. Try just searching for Hedgehog in the search bar if you can't find it under the animal mold designs. :) Or give us a call - we are happy to help you out!
hi there! a couple questions; I don't have a heat gun, will a hair dryer work? also, if my soaps have already started sweating, should I leave the condensation on before wrapping it, or should I wipe it off first? one more; will wax paper work?
@ImaMuffin Depends on if your hair dryer gets really hot - it might work. But you can also just wrap them. The heat gun just tightens the plastic down a little more. If you already have condensation you might try spraying them with a little rubbing alcohol and then wrapping with plastic. Wax paper won't contour and stretch over the soap like plastic wrap does - so no I don't think it would work well.
@cutecrown You can find label stock at an Office supply store as well as on Bramble Berry.com. As far as designing the labels, you can do everything from hand writing them to designing them on a computer and then print them yourself or have a copy shop print them for you.
@MsParanoia1 You can store your soaps in plastic containers. The type that have a tight fitting seal - like tupperware - are the best to prevent excess moisture from getting in. This video isn't really about storing you soap so much as how to package your individual bars.
@InnocentSage You don't have to use plastic wrap. It's just there to prevent 'sweating' or 'condensation' from forming. If you wrap in paper - you might get moisture spots coming through. But it really just depends on the humidity level in your climate.
The other option is to make Cold process soap from scratch. CP soap doesn't need to be wrapped.
@soapqueentv what is the difference between cold pressed soap and melt and pour? is it just the way it's made? or is used with different types of soap bases? or a little bit of both? i have always wondered, but i could never find the answer. thanks. :)
@mrslovettrules Cold Process and Melt & Pour soap are at their more basic the same thing. They both use saponification to make soap. M&P soap is made using high temperatures and processes that are pretty difficult to duplicate at home. So that's why you don't see many tutorials out there for making your own M&P base.
The main reason most people like to make CP soap is so that they have control over the ingredients and because a fully cured bar of CP soap will last longer than a bar of M&P.
In general, it's best to let soap sit for 24 hours before trying to remove it from the mold. With single cavity molds you can sometimes get them out after a couple of hours by popping them in the refrigerator for 10 minutes. But I find that loaf soap takes the entire 24 hours to set-up.
I've been saran-wrapping my soaps by hand until I can wrap them up for holiday gifts. Your video has made me consider shrink-wrapping for a more professional look. Do you have any recommendations for heat guns, or at least, what temperature to set the heat gun?
We just use plain old plastic wrap for food - so I haven't had much experience with professional shrink wrap systems. Any heat gun will work from a paint stripper to an embossing gun - most hair dryers don't get hot enough.
Cold Process Soap needs to breathe, so I don't recommend wrapping it in plastic. But you can still use the little soap boxes or wrapping paper - they both allow enough air in to keep your CP bar happy!
Bramble Berry Sells a plain label stock that you can print and cut-down your self. Or you can find all kinds of interesting labels and stickers at your local craft store.
You don't have to use a heat gun - it just gives a more professional look. You can stretch the plastic wrap over the soap and get it pretty tight by hand. Then I would just trim the back and use a piece of tape to keep it secure.
do u have to wrap melt and pour soap in the plastic wrap, using the heat gun or embossing gun or can you just wrap it in plastic wrap and not use the heat gun?
Yay!! What a great way to start the weekend (it is Friday here in Australia)! Gotta get my weekly fix! Ihope you never run out of soapy things to show us!!

@Lizza2075 That's a cool idea. I will definitely pass that along. In the mean time, you could get just one box and open it up to use as a template.

@bittercoffee0 Yes, I don't think the heat would set-off the fizzing reaction or anything.
