Movies always sucks compared to books! I have experienced that so often that I'd rather make a choice between reading the book or watching the movie.

the book and movie have similarities but is different, the concept is the same...him being away and her back at home...but the movie isn't bad, you just need to go into the movie not knowing what the book is cuz u'll jus notice the differences..tho i liked the book better

i am from germany and i've read the book but everything i can see here is not really what the book is about. ( Correct me if i am wrong) In the book John is leaving because he had to go back to the armee and in the film Sevannah leaves because she has to go back to school. ? Does anyone can tell me: Is the book or the film better? And does the film base on the book, yes or no ! i'm crazy about seeing it in theatres here in Germany but i need to know it now =) thanks

its an okay movie but i do advise you: DO NOT READ THE BOOK BEFORE THE MOVIE OR U WILL BE MORE DISAPOINTED. the movie left out the little parts that made the story line perfect in the book. i dont understand how the moviecould compare to the notebook. but i do hve to say there were heartfelt moments where i was like: ooohh man but amanda seyfried was really good at acting

i just met Channing & Amanda last night at the Charleston premiere. their both super nice!
This is also my beach that i surf at! Im double stoked for this movie! 1- cuz the book was amazing so i know the movie will be and 2 - cuz it was filmed in Charleston (bits and pieces) but i cant wait to recongise the surrondings!
