  • This is the definitive version of October Song, Bert was a truly great and inspirational guitarist, ISB wish they could have played like this. I was a big fan of ISB and saw them play live several times.

  • October is the month of much death, and therefore much life. Always been my favorite. Bert were gonna miss you all the months of the year.

  • What a wonderful rendition of a wonderful song - didn't think anyone could beat Robin's version but this is great.

  • he played brisbane qld years ago so long

  • RIP Bert. You were the best accoustic guitarplayer I've known.

  • A great song by Robin Williamson on The Incredible String Band's

first album. Not quite up to Robin's original but still wonderful. RIP.

  • 'll sing you this October song

    There's no song before it

The words and tune are none of my own

For my joys and sorrows bore it

we will not forget this october Bert....Goodnight...

  • october death. october song. what a striking coincidence

  • Aujourd'hui, 5 octobre 2011, "October Death Song"... Adieu Bert.

  • RIP Bert

  • sad news. what a musician

  • RIP Bert, now you play for the angels.

  • Heartbreaking, given today's events.. October indeed..

  • Goodbye, Bert. We miss you.

  • nice version but williamson's guitar's better.

  • one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard, one where I never even thought of looking for another version...this one is...just...so...absolutely...perfect.

That, and his guitar playing is one of the most uniquely organic, complex intoxicating and completely his and his alone.

To accomplish that with a steel string acoustic is something special...beyond anything I can say to do it justice...it speaks for itself so much the words and stories almost seem like a bonus

    Slainte, Bert, pure magic

  • perfect.

  • First time i've heard this version - gorgeous. I think i'll always love Robin Williamson's version best but this comes verrrrry close.

  • What a great version of this song. It'll be here in 3 weeks: turning leaves, the smell of wood smoke, and hopefully an end to this damn heat.

  • amazing

  • great version ! cindy kallet and gordon bok do a good version of this on Neighbors (Timberhead Music - B00110BQXS - 1996 )

  • great

  • Does anybody know where this song originally came from? I thought it was The Incredible String Band.

  • It's by Robin Williamson originally :)
