Can you use black pepper? I couldn't find white pepper at my local store. From what I read online, they are similar in taste, but white pepper is mostly used in white sauces to keep up appearance more than taste.
You're right about the appearance aspect but it does have a bit of a difference in taste in food considering it's like a powder and is a bit stronger. Sure you can use black pepper, it's not an appearance issue especially when there's pesto. Have you looked in your market's spice rack or better yet an Asian market?
Sautee on medium or just below. The cream will bubble a little, but you don't want it to bubble too much otherwise it will evaporate (if that happens add a little more wine). Melt the parmesan cheese in the bubbling cream and then YUM. This is one of my favorites, enjoy!
I've made shrimp linguini without pesto and just a cream sauce with a little white onion so no as long as you don't add to much onion it will be fine. Thanks for watching.
Nobody in Italy puts the oil in the water... the oil floats in water! The oil you need is inside the pesto sauce that is ready to be eaten when the pasta is cooked. The idea of shrimp with pesto is very bad because the fish with cheese is terrible!
If you want, just try to make the original pesto sauce, all you need is to mince in a mixer 2 garlic cloves, half glass of olive oil, 6 spoons of parmigiano, 2 spoons of pecorino (roman or sardinian), 60g of basil and 2 spoons of maritime pine seeds.
I think-a it's a time-a I teach-a you a lesson! Kapish!! The oil prevents the pasta from-a sticking. Comprendo? This recipe is made by Gordon Ramsay one of the most famous chefs in the world. Comprendo? It's a very delicious Kapish! I come-a to Italy to show you mama and grandma how to make-a Italiano food eh OK? It's-a time you eat-a real Italian food!
in italian we say LINGUINE, not LINGUINI; we don't use all that garlic and the cream...an advice: you have to pay attention to the "parmesan" (in italian Parmigiano). It must be made in Italy! that is the only parmesan really good!
@Teleblu73 Italy is full of poor dishes! Try the pasta with beans: make 2 liters of broth (wt meat or vegetables) and cook a minced onion in a big pot with spoon of olive oil or in butter and rosmarine for 5 min. Add 200g of beans, half of them mashed, cubes of pancetta and pasta (not spaghetti, use small pasta) and add the broth to cook the pasta. When the pasta is soft (just try it) and the broth has retreated the dish is ready. Add black pepper! It was the main dish of the italian army.
I just made this for some out of town friends 2 days ago and it's awesome. Why would your dad think it would taste bad, all the ingredients are great! Thanks for watching and glad you tried my recipe :)
Super and thank you. It's comments like yours that make posting my videos worthwhile ... especially since I've turned down the advertising option. I hate popup ads! I hope you view and comment on more recipes and make more!
Doubtful anything other than cream would work because it wouldn't thicken, unless you wanted to try to add corn starch but I think that wouldn't turn out good.
Aha thanks you're the one who keeps suggesting I make walnut shrimp like panda express. Well a few days ago I finally ate this and liked. I'll put it on my list of things to make.
I was watching an episode of Kitchen Nightmares and one of the dishes Gordon Ramsay introduced was this pesto shrimp linguini. Didn't say how it was made but it just sounded so good I made. And it was a total success.
Italian food is one of favourites, but only get to eat it at weekends.

I think that doubling the recipe will be fine, or use two skillets and prepare them at the same time. Thanks for watching.
