What everyone is ranting about is stuff on the front end. You need to know whats happening on the back end..then it all makes sense. I will say, from my observation, that D. Ikeda has willingly and knowingly created a cult of personality around him. I know that huge sums of money have been used to build luxury homes in the USA for his use,on the Uni campus and other places. It was also done in the Community Center I helped build in Colorado.
I have been living in China for the past 5 years, No organization of any kind here...so its the Gohonzon, the Gosho, and me. From this perspective, I can be neutral since I am truly on the outside. I found SGI to be very evangelistic and some of its members would wear crosses. I thought that was wierd when they do not believe in buddha statues or figurines. I am not a christian and I was turned off by the cross wearing as they would shun the Temple. I have never gone to NSA meetings. However, my SGI days are over. I didn't care for Ikeda (sansei)worship nor how many honorary doctorates he obtained. I left when they tried to sell me the gohonzon.
