I respect your opinion. Honestly though I can't see how you like paco rabanne black xs over this. LOL. This one to me is a much more mature fresher classier scent. I guess it is a love or hate but I love it. I do detect the tobacco which brings it together. The only downfall for me is the longevity. For some reason this fragrance doesn't last long enough on my skin as I would like.

I like your other reviews but I cannot disagree more about The Dreamer. It certainly is better than other fragrances that have attempted this style, but I do appreciate it isn't to everyone's taste - if you don't like it you don't like it, and it probably will never grow on you.

At any rate, The Dreamer does eventually open up for me, and when it does what I smell is a very sweet, bland, and aggressively synthetic gourmand woody oriental. To my nose it’s an opaque, heavy, and intensely cloying scent that seems to suck the air right out of the room. I don’t get any lily, juniper or tobacco, just grating woody amber and flat, saccharine sweetness.

Yes! Finally someone who agrees with me. This smell annoys the hell out of me too. The first time I used it, I was fine with it. After that, each time I couldn't stand it on my skin at all. I even threw out a full mini bottle I had of it.

This is one of the best colognes I have ever try. I see why you won't like this one though, this cologne says, I am a lot of man that you might not be ready to take on. Lol I had a completely different take on this fragrance I was really annoyed by the tobacco scent it was strong in the first hour then started smelling really great had compliments by a bunch of females

The interplay between the florals and tobacco make for an intoxicating experience in this one for me and when the tonka vanilla-ish thing kicks in its straight off to dreamland for me. I admit i hated the dreamer the first few times i sampled it but then i finally 'got' it. hope the same happens for you cubby

Cubby I challenge you to try this one for a while... Smell the drydown after MANY hours... You'll get a sweet tobacco smell that is so beautiful.

The best part of this fragrance sadly does take many hours to get to, but if you do you'll get such a crazy nice sweet tobacco. I grew to like the opening as well.

I agree with your review! Just like L'Instant de Guerlain, I've sampled it a few times hoping that eventually I will like it, but I really don't. They probably share a few notes because I get the same "wet cardboard" vibe from both. Ew. Not for me.

Great Review Cubby! I hate this stuff with a passion I am glad I got it dirt cheap when it was being hyped, because when I smelled it I was like what its this cheap nasty smelling crap. You said it best it is a nightmare many better fragrances then this one out there like the ones you mentioned, once I find where I through or hid this crap I am selling it for peanuts LOL

You got it right! It's more love/hate than A*Men. I've never heard ANYone say that the Dreamer is just okay. Either they hate it, or absolutely love it. When you first spray it, you gotta keep walking because it's almost vinegar-harsh. The dry-down, or smelling it from far away is amazing though. I love it.

This one did really bad on my skin, lasted about an hour on my skin, I got no tobacco at all, just mostly synthetic florals. I really wished this one worked on me. Nice review man.

Hmm i don't think the dreamer is groumandish like lolita en body kourus... I get a linnen smell from this.Freshly washed linnen...While lolita and body kourus has the darker chocolately vibe that represents gourmands. Of course like everyone else say: the opening is not that great:p.
