go to blackberry apps and look for IM+ Lite.

it gives you half an hour for free each call. so you should limit you calls to half an hour for each, to stay within the tariff which is free.

Skype has not realized compatible version with 9700...the only way to get skype in UK is with 3 network and you can download it from 3 services.
