whether music is on youtube or not, there will always be that problem if someone likes a certain album or song too much they will want to take it mobile, therefore purchase it or be a complete dickhead and illegally download it
This Album is based on his 2002 Album Electric Sea, Pure guitar, no bass, drums, or vocals(Of Course!)Ten years later he created this solo album which is his first in 2012, this album is really calm and peaceful, most likely like his Colma, Electric Sea, A Real Diamond in the Rough, and Captain EO's Voyage...I really like this album, cant wait to get it.
I agree with both of the top comments. If you like the album then buy it, but on the other hand listening to it on here ain't gonna hurt much and most of the money does come from touring. The reason I listen to stuff on youtube isn't so that I don't have to buy it, I listen to stuff on youtube so I know whether to buy it.
Both the top comments make good points and I don't know which to side with, all while listening to this beautiful music....makes me want to have a quiet emotional moment in a bed of flowers.

This albums good but it's no Electric Tears. What made Electric Tears was the variety of effects and tone that separated each other. With this album it's driven by the same tone, with little to no effects. Probably my third favorite Buckethead album and I have seven of them. lol (the most I have of any musician.)
@YawnEater this album is really growing on me. it seems to meander aimlessly a little less than electric tears too (not to diss the latter, it's an amazing album, especially the title track)
@niezniezgov european release? lol, I think theres will be no european release dude, same like his 5 albums before. buckethead releases worldwider every time, on the webside of his label
it's not released separately, if some store`in europe wants it, because of a customer, they order it from TRAVIS DICKERSON. US.
why not order it directly from a label? just imagine how cool it its to get it directly from the source of creation?
@hallio111 Yeah, i just realized it when i looked on TDRSmusic that it would be a WorldWide release on February. I just got confused when i saw it on Youtube pre-release. And of course i'll buy it on TDRS, the money i give is for BH, not for amazon shit that want to make us pay 50 euros or dollars more, like you said i find it better purchasing it from the label.
@niezniezgov ah ok:) but anyway, youre right with the youtube preview thing, bh. has so much cd's it's somehow necessary to listen to the cd before buying it:) I do the same. but I also buy it, because bucket makes art, I just have to buy some of his stuff:) cause his music means A LOT to me:)
all his songs are so beautiful they wanna make me cry just listening to them, im so glad to see people appreciate his work, buckethead is one of the only artists left thats making good music today.
I love buckethead. He is my favorite musician. I will support anything he does. But why in the fuck do you allow the fuck up at 5:33 to make it to the album? I almost feel lately buckethead is just making a backing track, then improves over it once and then says fuck it. IMO not nearly the entergy on recent albums as enter the chicken, colma etc. just my 2 cents
@silkstringzzz hm yeah maybe its because he plays the solos direcly from his heart , improvised, maybe he made a solo try wich ended up beautiful, and he could'nt get it any better that this, and then he didn't want to edit the solo..... I think this is cool.
I agree with others here, DON'T steal his music.- Studio time cost money, musician collaboration cost money, album artwork and production takes money, lower CD production runs like BH costs more per unit, etc. If you are a fan of BH you would support him by buying at full price. He does not sell millions of units and touring cannot do it all for him. The venues he has been to have only hundreds and not thousands and ticket prices are low at around $25. how does he make money from this?
@nocturnecismoll let me be the first to welcome you to the awesomeness that is buckethead...might i suggest listing to some songs such as Nottingham Lace, Rising Sun, Golden Eyes, Aunt Suzie/Space Cadillac prepare to be blown away
i'm not sure why people think listening to this on youtube is going to hurt Mr. Buckethead. He is a touring artist. he doesn't make his money from album sales, or he would have hit singles on the radio. anyone think he approved of this early release to generate buzz for his upcoming tour. people pay $20+ to get in the door and buy t-shirts stickers and albums thats how to make money in the music business. Every album released has ended up on here . Just enjoy it!
@DisembodiedLoaf ... people have been conditioned to pay those prices for music for years. CD's cost less than $1 to produce and sell for $10-20. that's a 1000-2000% markup. only a small percentage cd sales are needed pay for all the costs of production. the rest is profit. music business class 101. have a nice day!
@DaturaRiffpotion Profit? So the musician must make something from that. You kind of contradicted yourself, unless you're saying that the label makes all of it. So why even sell it? Are you aware how much it actually costs to make CD's? Sure, $1 for the CD, but you have to take into account mastering, artwork, recording, packaging, inserts, and distribution. Even then, Buckethead does make a good amount. I can get 300 CD's made for ~$1000, then sell them for $15 each. That's a 500% markup.
@DisembodiedLoaf im not sure what your trying to accomplish on here. 300cd@$1000 is not a good deal. although you have valid points, before you try to sell more of your cds you might want a good book on the music business. i think you missing some information on how things work and where the money goes and gets distributed. An artist's money is in touring and selling merchandise.
@DisembodiedLoaf - With a 500% markup selling them at 15$ each and getting 300 made, you still would be making pennies after you paid for the drum programming, custom artwork, shipping, time spent recording the tracks, mixing, mastering, advertising, updating websites, paying to put it on itunes, amazon etc. When all is sid and done, its a lot less than you would expect, and then you hope people will actually buy the thing, so you dont have a crate of them in your basement.
@DaturaRiffpotion I'm totally agree with you ! Use youtube and peer-to-peer network to share those fuckin' buckethead masterpieces ! If there's a person who deserves that, it's him !
@DaturaRiffpotion - Your logic holds true for most every touring musician who is on any major label and have an hit song on the radio, they make far more money from touring and selling the merchandise that they have control over rather than the record company owned album. However buckethead self releases and funds his own albums, he is not on some big label who foots the bill and steals the profit. He pays for the album production, and recoups the cost through album sales.
@DaturaRiffpotion - Buckethead is far from being rich over his album sales or even touring. He sells albums to make some money and continue his dream of making music. I support sharing on youtube myself, so I am not complaining. However the real fans should realize, buying his records is a HUGE help and show of support not to mention worth every penny. Even touring, he pays for travel and books small venues that dont sell out, then tickets are not 40$ each like big bands etc.
This and The Homing Beacon are the only songs i've listened to so far. I was terrified this album wouldn't live up to the standard that Electric Tears set, but if the rest of the album is as good as this song I guess I had nothing to worry about.
C'mon people, don't steal Buckethead's music, download it from itunes or buy it directly from his online store. The guy is doing it all on his own with little to no help from a record company. So if you claim to love his music so much then spend the $10 to show him how much you love it.
@MountainJammn I know man, that´s true, but.. I only want the CDs in plastic, in my hands, the artistic concept , but for disgraceful situations, I live in Mexico, and there´s not Buckethead´s CDs., if I can I would buy all the Buckethead Discography, =(
@Bucketbothead007 This is his official site right? and all the money guys to him correct? reason I ask is because I want to support Buckethead and not the music industry.
@akaten916 Not sure the % Big B gets, but imo tdrsmusic is the best place to purchase some of his music & other merch. Bucket & Travis jam together sometimes so it seems like the logical choice to me. As far as I know cityhallrecords is the site where Electric Sea was originally available.
@MountainJammn buckethead is worth $8 million, he's doing just fine even with people downloading his songs from youtube but i understand what your saying
@JonLeGanj - He is not worth 8 million... Well technically he is priceless, but yeah, don't believe what you read on the internet. There are musicians far more successful than buckethead who are worth far less than 8 million... Those celebrity websites trying to calculate his worth probably use the amount of albums he has cut as a major factor, assuming they are all selling as much as a normal pop album in the stores. They do not even carry his correct name but try to show his wealth
@brainphreak yea but lets not forget, he was the lead guitarist for guns n roses for a few years, and im sure that alone earned him quite a bit. the album "chinese democracy" sold over a million records so im sure he got a good amount from that.
@JonLeGanj - he wasnt the guitarist that long, and even while he held that title, how many shows did they play? Barely anything, and no albums cut. Finally the last album came out and he was on a few tracks only, the royalties for playing as a guitarist on an album only for a few songs, is not much to write home about. Also the album was on a major label and selling 1 million copies is pretty much standard, and low volume. The majority of the money went to the record label, MAYBE axl
@brainphreak well regardless, im willing to bet he's living a comfortable life and even if he isnt rich at least he's making a living writing music and doing something he loves............ i wish i could do that
@JonLeGanj - Yeah I think he is able to pay the bills now, not buying any extra houses or anything, but not having to get a job at 7-11, so that is some justice in the world. It wasnt like that all the time though, he has been at it , touring pretty much every year and writing 3+ new albums a year not to mention all his guest spots.. He is a hard working musician so he makes a living, but he certainly works for a living. You could do it too if you dedicated as much time and effort :)
@brainphreak Buckethead is a very hard working musician, but he's more than well off... He's worth an estimated 15million USD, more than all of his virtuoso counterparts (Satriani, Gilbert, Vai, Petrucci). He does a lot more than just pay the bills :P He's just not glamourous like everyone else so people don't think he is as rich.
@Toke912 - I am a musician myself, and I have corresponded with and even where buckethead lives.. I seriously doubt 15million is even remotely accurate. Where did you come up with this number? its really a bunch of BS... You honestly think he has more money than Pretrucci ,Satriani, Gilbert and Vai? That's pure crazy talk. Think about where you got your information, the sources or lack of. These people estimating his value dont even know his real name.. Its fabricated BS you find online
@Toke912 - I also would like to mention what many people do not realize with us musicians, we have to pay for everything. Our instruments, our albums, mixing, mastering, promo, etc. on top of that, no benefits, so when Buckethead was recently layed up in bed due to a back injury, not only did he miss out on touring, which is how he makes his money, but he had huge expenses for hospital bills and such. Musicians are the bastard stepchildren of the industry, abused, and Bhead ran away :)
yesterday i heard this album was on sale, so i tried to search it on youtube but it wasnt there!. today i wake up and the whole album is on youtube. this is so awesome

Toke912 2 weeks ago
