No offense intended, but anyone properly trained to use an excavator, no matter the size, should know better then to dig from the side of the tracks. You dig over on end of the tracks or the other or diagonally with the pushblade down (if equipped) for the best stability. But with that tiny thing I'm not sure it would have made any difference.

I don't think that size of excavator should be operated with the boom below level of itself, simply because it doesn't have a counter-balance. When are those useful? I have never seen one of those actually. only large John Deere or Hitachi excavators.
