Meh, this is a great album but I wouldn't call it a masterpiece exactly. I only find a select few of the songs on this album to be all that depressing. It's definitely a unique album and I will give it that and a very good one at that, certainly not the best around though. Still, great song!

You might want to try Nadja (esp the album _Touched_), which is pretty doomy and far more depressing in its atmosphere than this.

Sure frege thanks for the recommendation I'll check them out now. I doubt I'll like it more since this is one of my top 10 favorite albums ever made, but I might like it if it sounds similar.

@Hawdkoah I try to space out to doom metal, but most of it only entertains me a lil bit, either that or bores me. And most of those bands sounds pretty samey to me too. I'm more into power metal.

@Hawdkoah I adore Electric Wizard, they're an amazing band :) great band to recommand others. I consider to be stoner metal instead of doom metal though. I tried a Candlemass album called Nightfall, and thought it was really really boring, and that there wasn't enough variation from song to song. I, however, did check out your other 2 recommendations and ended up loving both of them. Thanks for the great bands. Better than a lot of the other boring doom metal I have listened to.
