Hey i never played mass effect before. Two quesitions, can you switch from 3rd to 1st person? and is the environments you play in cool and "pretty" or is it mainly dark, metal parts of a spaceships?

@ericksonmpe First I would like to say : Sorry for my crappy English. In Mass Effect you play 3rd person no first person!) The surroundings are very dynamic. When you start the game you are playing at a spaceship. After this mission you are free to go wherever you would like to go. There are still some story line missions though. Just play and enjoy the game is my advice!

There can be no comparison in any lever between these 2.As about the name Shepard,there was one in Lost too.As about spaceships, well you need them when you move in SPACE obviously.As for crazy weapons?Well,the Vindicator rifle is a crazy high tech future weapon.The P-90 used in atlantis however is not a crazy weapon...

You can play Mass Effect 2 by itself, it'll stand up as a game in its own right. But you'll definitely be missing out on a lot story-wise; the point of the Mass Effect trilogy is that the decisions you make in the first game effect the second (and presumably the third), and you won't be able to see that happening if you jump straight into the second game.

They've fixed the side mission aspect, although replaced it with a just-as-tedious-but-less-time-­consuming thing. And besides, people buy Mass Effect for the story more than the gameplay, and if you liked the story and characters in ME1, they've only got better in this one.

you play the game just for the story beacuase it's wonderful. plus you get very personal with all the characters and you start caring for them. and it gives you a lot of hard choices to make that will influence your game. (ex. all your crew can survive to aall the crew can die)

Everyone says there is a lot of emotion in the female shep performance. All I hear is devoicing the last 2-3 syllables and very unreal intonation (no curves characteristic for English). Meer did a better job being neutral, although it does sometimes come through a bit dull (while Hale is just forced). Plus his Renegade is WELL ABOVE Hale's.

@slapnut892 Combat in 2 is just flawless and there are no slow down issues or lock ups they just reduced the number of weapons you can carry by a large extent, got rid of the complicated inventory and replaced armor and weaponry with weapon, health and shield upgrades.
