  • Folks, this fruit and delicious!

  • thinks it tastes like a mix of lechee x cranberry as it is sweet and acid at the same time. Its smell is unique. Bring me lovely memories from my grandparents home :)

  • Wow I just brought a seedling!!!! Can't wait for ten years to pass so i can taste them!!!

  • @AlbertLloydy lol it is worth it tho

  • I'm brazilian! And have one "jaboticabeira" on my backyard!!! :P

Always, when I come of the school, I climb there and catch some... it's really good!

  • We have a couple of these trees in our backyard... Was pruning them today and it's just so strange to see the fruit all over the trunk!

  • Have one growing in my back yard in Florida. Not very productive as of yet, however has born some fruit. Mine is perhaps 7 ft tall and three years old.

  • @gerry301 They do take an awful long time to grow, so I've heard..

  • @Supermarioshead

Have since learned its takes up to eight years to produce fruit

  • @gerry301 I'd love to grow it but I'd need a big green house! ha ha.. Ireland is not it's natural habitat.. :(

  • @Supermarioshead You need to move to Florida. Many English and other europeans live here. Even have an English pub and restaurant 10 minutes from here. Houses are reletively inexpensive due to the mortgage crisis. I have a coconut tree, figs, mango, persimmon, peach, necterine, avocado, orange, lemon, loquat, and papaya growing as well.:P
