favorite part is the organ - wonderful classic heavy rock that sends me back to the summer of '81 - this was blasting out of my buddy's parked hot rod in the background the night we held our Senior class "pukefest" - drink 3 beers, run 100 yards, repeat - will always be in my top 100
One of my favorite all time guitar solos. I just wonder why their production sound was so cheesy. Maybe the budget didn't allow for high end production.
I`ve always liked this song. I was with the girl i love at a Y&T gig once, and this came over the PA as we held hands waiting ,and i was the happiest guy in the whole world
@devilsdeck I'm wondering if your screen name is a reference to a great song of the same name by Canada's Coney Hatch? Love the Y&T memory...Dave Meniketti is the balls!
Oh yeah, not "heard" its hear* yeah!!! I would buy beer because I was 21, then come home and jam out to M.S.G. and Thin Lizzy! Weird thing is that I would get buzzed with only a sixer. Nowadays, a 12er is required. YEAH!
YES!!! I remember being 21 (8 years ago) and looking up the Scorpions bio and reading about MS. I remember reading "Oh, he has a solo band?" I dl a MSG "greatest hits" cd. It was a series of cds that that one company released. I think it was a Then & Now comp. Anyway, the first songs I heard were Armed & Ready, Attack of the Mad Axeman, and On & On. For some reason, On & On stuck in my head. I would heard this song on 4 hour road trips. Truly an awesome song. By far, my favorite!!!!
This Song IS the Cat's Ass. So much of the music thats out there today sounds like a 3 hour plane crash! it's great to go back and listen some real Rock & Roll!
oohh and i mean the BUILT TO DESTROY ALBUM that has ....on and on....let sleeping dogs lie....are you ready to rock....attack of the mad axe man......the msg logo and the words.. built to destroy.. are the only things on the cover.
MSG, Built To Destroy.......is the best album he ever put out, a top ten of all time for sure! it kicked ass then........and it kicks ass now.......rock on schenker!!
I saw this two nights ago and sounded better than half the hard stuff they put out now.. The band was supertight and MS in still in top form after 30 years in MSG and another 10 or so playing.
i rremmember hearing this all over the radio in new jersey when i was growing up it was awesome!! went out and bought the cassette the same week!!! it was cool going to real record store where all they had was lp's and cassettes!! no cd;s yet. get a tape for 5.00 good old days.unbeatable!!
Michael and I hung around a bit in 1985 or 84 in Newport Beach, CA. We would go out partying at places like Woodys Wharf and the Red Onion etc. At the time he was totally infatuated with the Nancy Wilson from Heart. Michael was intense in everything he did back then. He also would get us into fights occasionally and would comment how he wasn't going to use his hands in a fight because of a possible injury that may prevent him from playing he did use Kung Fu like kicks. Just a little history...
this song has really aged well...classic "heavy melody" from the Schenk. Barden's vox here are among his best. Cozy Powell doesnt hurt either. ouch, that's a mean solo.
Each time i listen to MSG, UFO (MOGG/WAY), blue oyster cult and so on i just want to be 10 years older so i could have lived in the grreat 80's. I Just love this song!!!
@chillichomper yea man im goin to see the scorpions, cinderella, and ratt live this summer, and its the scorpions last tour together so it should be great!!!!!!!!
epic. I recall hearing this for the first time on the radio and it really turned my head so to speak - had all the elements of a solid rock anthem with a little dio-esque flare with the falsettos and the power of cozy and schenker.
Good sound quality..i love it man. Thanks!
