Oh, also, I'm going to get a Dyno Jet Stage 7 for my Vmax. Stage 7's are illegal for the street and can only be used on track bikes....except for only one model! You guessed it, the YAMAHA V-MAX is the only bike allowed (in Ontario, Canada at least) this privilege. So, I need a LOUD pipe with good horsepower for my 1200cc V-Max. Please send me some suggestions. Many thanks. :o) Dusty M.
I have a Vmax; it's in the shop right now. I was just in an accident. The Insurance is taking care of everything, plus, I have "a little left over" for something extra and I'm definitely going to get LOUD PIPES. I'm just debating whether or not to get a Hindle 4 into 2 into 1 pipe or a Kerker K Series Chrome one? (Will I need the Supertrapp Slip On for the Kerker?--my Vmax is matte black would match it very well) Can anyone suggest some LOUD PIPES. I ain't gonna get "pushed out" of my lane again
killer color on the bike...I miss my 96 magna with the supertrapps...ran 9 plates with a k&n and stage 2 jet kit...made 135 hp... was a blast to ride and the sound was great..that v-max sound is the coolest of all bikes though!
Wow yeah that must have had a lot done (maybe nitrous?) and ran real good to get 135rwhp out of a 750 even with 11 to 1. My 636 only gets about 110 at the wheel and that has 12/1 stock and EFI with 15,500 redline. I owned a Magna a few years ago before my Vmax and those are fun little bikes, I should have kept it.
Supertrapp does not offer a 4-1 system for vmax. I called the helpful folks at Boxenstop in daytona about the jet kit question cuz I was wondering myself. They told me that 8 or more disks and you dont need a jet kit. He did say that a k&n airfilter would help.

96magna did you really make 135hp on a magna 750? Or was that a typo? I love v4s!

it made 135 on the dyno last year...had to run it on 93 octane because of the 11.0 to 1 wiseco pistons

For 6 to 8 plates, it works best with K&N filter and dynojet stage 1.

I heard that if you leave all the disks in the Supertraps, you want need to jet it. Do you know if this is true?
pokeyjoe5 4 years ago
I would imagine, the more disks you have the less back pressure you will end up with, that will make your engine run leaner

Is that Supertrapp exhaust with a jet kit and new K&N air filter?
