Funny, I didn't get their new record yet. It debuted #6 on billboard. Looks like people actually do listen to prog metal, it's just that Cheer-Accident are too advanced for the masses. It also looks like Perma-seal or Roadrunner or whatever has been doing something right for the DT. But I guess with Mastodon, Dream Theater, et al, a poor man's Thinking Plague is a hard sell these days. Thy, uh, Blanche, you have heard of Thinking Plague, right? Or am I introducing them to you? Taking up kazoo?
Now that y'all have rocked the vote and we have socialism in America, don't y'all feel kind of silly about Enduring the American Dream? We're like Copenhagen now. I just fucked a legal hooker, smoked a legal joint, and got free antibiotics from national health care to cure the STD I got. Shit, Obama is even scaling up Afghanistan to the Soviet level. He may be too much of a socialist! Shit, I'm gonna quit my job and live off the system. It's a worker's paradise! Let's sing the Internationale!
My Christmas present for Thymme -- 6 degrees of Slayer (it's 6 degrees instead of 7, because the 666 thing, ya know). OK -- here goes. Thymme is in Cheer-Accident, they toured with Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, and the lovely (when not bald, but I'd still do her) Carla Kihlstedt. Mike Patton did an appearance on a Tin Hat Trio recording, and wow -- he's also in Fantomas with Dave Lombardo from Slayer. That's only 2 people separating you from Slayer. You're going to hell! Merry Anti-Christmas!
@UnBalancedLoad There isn't a White Castle on Lombard... It's too crooked! I love to carve that on my sk8 while listening to DRI on my iPod. Oh, it's all about the home team -- if it wasn't created within 50 miles of me, I don't want it! I can only alley-oop to a rousing chorus of "I win, you lose. I win, you lose". Graffic Depression don't have that same umpf, plus that shit was recorded in Chicago... I can only listen to it through the hole in my sheet (so I can't sk8 to it!!!)
Did you hear the news about your Chi-town pal WW being the new drummer for Behold the Arctopus? Wow. Their last drummer taught drum lessons on Jordan Rudess' (of Dream Theater) online music conservatory. No shit! That makes him 1 degree of separation from Dream Theater and just 5 degrees of inner turbulence (a not so inside Dream Theater joke). They're also signed to Metal Blade, the same label Slayer started out on until they got on Def American, yo ditty shnizzle ka-zizzle.
I didn't hear that news. Did you hear the news that Dream Theater has been signed to Perma-seal records? I guess using their music in a Perma-seal commercial really hit home with the prog rockers. Who knew that nerds had leaky damp basements! Roy Spencer- that's who!
@UnBalancedLoad All's I know about the DT is that Transatlantic are touring this year. I didn't even get the new DT record yet. Now, when you take the DT drummer with Marillion's bass player (you do know I played keyboards for Fugazi) and the singer/keyboardist for Spock's Beard, and that Swedish guy who is in every prog rock band (because Thymme got him into UZ and Cuneiform records back in 1983!!!), you got something that's better than Perma-seal. But you're wrong. They're on Roadrunner...

@UnBalancedLoad Yeah, and he probably has even less degrees of separation from Voivod than Slayer... Think about it!
