  • what is the verdict of this siren? they gonna replace it or leave it there to rust?

  • were these things made buy the aca?

  • Is it still there?

  • do you think if they hooked it up with the right equipment that it would run again? It looks to be in pretty good condition...

  • i find the rotator drive on these MobilDirectos very interesting. its like a prototype Allertor in a way.

  • How did you get back off of that building?

  • @nascarsimracing1 Elevator......

  • @wiifire8 , is that new your city behind the siren?

  • Activate it at 0:07! Just kidding, that would really hurt the ears...

  • stellar video work...

  • Yep, that's a Mobil Directo. The major difference between these sirens and the Allertor is the belt driven rotator. Allertors have a direct-drive rotator and a fiberglass horn/stator housing.

  • There is a mobil direto in police academy too watch the last part when the gun man has luetenat harris

  • Poor siren, sitting around rusting away, abandoned after performing its duty while people buy new "electronic sirens."

I'm sure some town somewhere could use this...

  • @Thunderbolt505

Mobil Directos--what this is, according to WiiFire8--are huge, too.

  • Nice Allertor.

  • @Droideka133

He said it's a Mobil Directo, not an Allertor. But Mobil Directos and Allertors do look very similar.

  • @Droideka133 No, Its A Mobil Directo

  • Actually unknown to many(not including wiifire) the Mobil-directo was actually awhole different company for a while making a electric and gas powered version of the mobil directo, Until i would say around the 60's Aca bought the rights to it

  • Arent mobil directo's gas-powerd allertors?

  • They came in gas power or electric versions. This is an Electric verion

  • @wiifire8

Can ya find us a gasoline-powered one and shoot it? DANG I wanna see one of those start up!

Also, if they're "not used since the Cold War," as Justin said, then how did you get that video? You found one that was already shot before that war ended? Or is Justin incorrect?

  • @Tabby266

"mobil directo's" are nothing. But Mobil DirectoS (no stray apostrophe) are either gasoline-powered or electric.

  • THIS BETTER BE A 10/12

  • DANG! Accidentally voted 1 star... :(

    Great Mobil-Directo siren!

  • That is definitely a 10/12 Port Mobil Directo.

  • turn on the bitch I would!

  • ALLERTORS!

  • @garyhstorms09

  • Great video. Man if that sucker were to go off while you were on the roof, OMG!

  • aaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggghh if it went off dan i wold scream then my ears would hurt lol
