incredible memory for me I was 12 this is part of what made me love the nba to this day. no other sport can you see the players so close and personal. you can hear conversations and see their faces. its not the same in other sports, basketball fans get to know there players more deeply than in other sports, something like this would never happen in football or hockey, and in baseball it can but not during the game (arod's move for cal). John Stockton? You can't be serious as saying he was better than Magic!! Though Stockton was a great player, at 6'9" Magic CHANGED the way the position was played and how we viewed the position!! That's how the "Point Forward" position was brought into vogue with Scottie Pippen, Paul Pressey, and now we're seeing it again with LeBron. All are at least 6'5" or taller (In LeBron's case 6'9") and pretty much ran the offense!!
John Stockton didnt have more skills. Nobody could do the things Magic could do. Not even Stockton could push the ball full court at the pace Johnson could. He couldnt see over bigger defenders in the low post like Magic could.
Stockton was terrific but Magic had another dimension that Stockton just didnt have. Magic is by far the greatest point guard who ever played. Greater that Cousy, greater than Oscar, greater than Stockton.
