I don't know if you would consider this person narcissistic, but I did once have a good friend who was very self centered & attention seeking to the point where she lost pretty much every since friend she had, including me, and screw up many things she had going for herself. It was really sad because even though she was losing all her friends, she still wouldn't stop trying to get attention any way possible including stealing things from people to take credit for it so people would praise her.
