Holy fucking shit! The Police Experience are the next best thing to the acually band and to have sir Stewart Copeland play with them just goes to show everyone how great they are. Does the band play in Canada (Ontario)? I sure love to attend one of their shows!!
Please re-post the full length original, the editing on this one is a bit haphazard, if I remember, towards the middle to the end of Roxanne, his drumming really caught fire, which you cut out.
A couple of reasons.. 1. We used another guitarist from another tribute band, 2) It's already an awful video, sound & picture wise, we didn't want to also include a train wreck that happened during Roxanne, lol, we knew a "live" arrangement that we had obviously never rehearsed with Stew, in the heat of the moment we didn't think to hash out what version, live or studio, we were doing! You know, when your look at your drummer & you notice he is Stew Copeland, your not thinking straight.
I don't see what #1 has to do with anything, listen, you are missing the whole point. Those who appreciate Stew and the Police look beyond these technical issues, it's about the overall experience in seeing the performance in it's entirety: the original video. I urge you not to worry about the quality or your seeming embarassment, in fact, you guys sound great! Art, music, or anything of expresion that is altered from it's original form or state devalues the experience, and thus, the enjoyment.
So from a purist point of view, and with all due respect, I am requesting again that you also post the original video in it's entirety with both songs. It's a real gem of a recording and I think it deserves to be seen with warts and all. That's the charm. Thanks ahead of time.
I love Stewart.. I've been a lifelong fan, but he just can't hit it like he did in 1983. Even the type of drumheads he uses these days make his drums less resonant... unlike in the eighties when they sang... just like Bill Bruford's toms.
Also...I'm just glad, for you all, that it was STEWART COPELAND on that night!
A little contrast...I've known more than a few people who have happened to meet the Bassist/Singer of The Police on one or more than occasions, AND at different points of the career (from 1979 to 2001). As talented as the guy is, NOT A ONE came away with a positive impression of him! Trust me on this one...There's no way THAT GUY gets up there to play with you all. Take care...and PLAY ON!
After all, if you guys weren't any good, it's a pretty good assumption that Stewart probably WOULD NOT have gotten up there with you guys. Man...TOTAL ENVY here. GOD! What a COOL night!...and WHAT a memory to tell your future grandkids! By the way...just curious...How long ago was this...before, during, or after the 2007-8 reunion?
Let me see if I have this right...A Police tribute band gets hired for a surprise b-day that turns out to be for STEWART COPELAND, of all people, and before the evening is out, Stewart ends up PLAYING DRUMS BEHIND THEM?!...Are you KIDDING ME?!?!
HOW FREAKIN'COOL IS THAT?!!!
If so, let it be said for now and for ALL eternity...Stewart, You're the best drummer EVER!...and you're a helluva decent chap as well!
Dude, are you in that band?...and if so, what instrument are you? Just for the record, if you are the bassist/singer of the group...dude...you sing the the OLD Sting vocals better than STING DOES NOW!
and if you're not him, I'll say that all NAIL not just the playing, but THE FEEL of The Police sound as well as any band I've heard covering their material...and with The Police's music, as you guys know, the space, groove, and feel are JUST AS important as the notes and chords themselves.
what a locomotive man!!! I luv "contact" n "driven to tears"

I suspect Stewart was partaking in his favorite Bavarian beer that night. He was just going crazy, wasn't he?
Love it. Great job, guys.

How awesome is that? How many tribute bands actually get to jam with the band members they're tributing!

That pretty friggin' amazing.
I watched the show "Tribute Bands" that showed basically Fallout auditioning for Miles Copeland and they are a brilliant tribute act.

El mejor homenaje a Police , Copeland un tio cojonudo y sin aires de grandeza, buen ejemplo para las figuritas que andan por ahi.-

Fallout boy?
No, Fallout was an offshoot that Stewart indulged in in the early eighties...
SgtSteel1 3 years ago
Fallout was the name of The Police's first single.
