One thing , among many others that I like about his performances is that he is a testimony to those who have been misguided into believing that to be a good blues musician, your past has to be one of a heroin addict and crack head that floods their bodies with tatoos and piercings. He is clean cut and professional, and what graces his monumental talent so much is his humility. He is not a proud arrogant prude who is to good to talk to his fans. He is down to earth a beautiful person.
His parents are some of the most wonderful people on planet earth. If you see the videos of his beginnings, you will see that his dad worked jobs that allowed him to have time with his son, and he invested in his son's talent and genius when he recognized that his son was nothing less than unusually talented. He helped develop his son's talent with his time and money and guidance. Because of his mom's and dad's sacrifices helping him along, we are able now to enjoy all this mind blowing talent.
This is great, and I know he's a huge Free fan so I guess the influence is bound to be there, but there's influence and influence..........Listen to Free "Walk in my Shadow" circa 1969
Tremendous performer, and no one sings and plays this song any better than Joe. Any song Joe touches will come out better than the author of such. You ought to check out his video of: The Thrill Is Gone. He knows that song was BB Kings baby, so he doesn't touch it much for BB is his friend, but oh my, this blues king Joe Bonamassa plays and sings it the best. I'm so glad that now that I know about Joe, I don't have to search anywhere else for the blues. My finality for the blues is Joe Bon.
He's a great performer and keeps the blues flag flying. Not better than the original though.Ominous quality missing. Green's solo writes the book on feel tone shape power and conciseness as well
Joe masters the true art of covering songs : make them sound better than the originals or do something new with it. His version of 'another kind of love' is so much better than the original. No offence to John Mayall, he was a true pioneer of British Blues.
I saw this guy about 9 months ago. Absolutely amazing. Got turned onto him by his magazine columns and lessons and went to see him the first chance I had. He is incredible. An unbelievable talent.

Please watch my modern day blues band. "Speak my heart" is the best of our videos. My singing could use some work. Any comments would be appreciated!

Just saw Joe's live concert in St. Catharines
last night, I got blown away by his performance! He is one of the most talented
blues guitar player on Earth at this time of our life.
I agree with the comment "earthblues" wrote below, he does a lot of the songs better than the original artists!

He turned Sloe Gin into a masterpiece. It's so obscure that most people don't even know it's a cover.
