This really is a nice part of the Mississippi. Between the lock and downtown St. Paul, quite a pleasant experience by boat.

I hate the Mississippi!

I worked on the barges in the 80s for $40 per 18 hour shift. Man I hated it. And I sabotaged my work-boat with honey in the diesel tanks before I finally walked away from the hell at the Keeokutch, IA lock and dam.

perfect! i took a walk along the stone arch bridge earlier today and i saw a boat that was in the lock. i wanted to watch to see the dam in motion, but i didn't have time. this video was just what i was looking for. nice music selection too : )

Is the bridge featured in the background during the first 10 seconds or so the bridge that collapsed a few years ago? Please get back to me I would really like to know. By the way your uploads are amazing!

Nope. The bridge that collapsed was the I-35W bridge. The one in this video is the Ford Parkway bridge.

Yes. Lockage is a free and available to all vessels, private and commercial.
