While I'm sure the actress did have an issue walking in such a small hamster wheel, there's another reason for her gait. In the film--as in the book--the attendants were supposed to be anchored to the floor by Velcro soles and Velcro footpaths. Imagine walking in a moving room with Velcro stuck to your feet. You're bound to stumble. lol.
I always had a problem with the shot...that galley deck was positioned between the passenger space and the cockpit right above her. Now as I recall the cockpit is layed out 90 degrees to the horizon...pointing straight up. The pilot is supposed to be on his back in relation to where the stewardress is now. Here she is, rotating 180 degrees and walking off to nowhere in particular when all she had to do is rotate 90 degrees and walk straight up. That will put her at the cockpit door. Am I right?
I'm building a model of the whole thing, still WIP, but a still on my website - 'gallery' 'what's new' section.
Did you know there is a piano opposite the dining table, and in the film, when Poole is running around shadow boxing the image is flipped left to right?
The only effect in 2001 I would want to improve is where the camera is moving along with Frank/Gary as he jogs. Looks like he's running uphill when it's behind and running downhill when it's in front of him - mainly because he was! You to have Frank at the bottom of the centrifuge so he looks to be running on the horizontal
Seemed obvious. :) I'm surprised no one's done it before. The main one I'm working on is fixing the 'Floyd's floating tray'. Looks to much like a cheap magician's trick right now.
Reminds me of the hotel fight scene from Inception
