  • With hyperstar lens exposure is 25 times faster therefore you don't need a wedge for astrophotography.the lens can be obtained from starrizona, see the demo vid on their site for this lens

  • For imaging, nothing beat a c11 with hyperstar and a good DSLR.

  • I have the CELESTRON EdgeHD 11" Optical GEM Tube Assembly on the GT-CG-5 Advanced Mount Computerized GOTO 40,000+ N.G.C., Messier, IC Object Database.I wanted an Equatorial Mount instead of a CPC Alti-Azimuth Mount. My ATLAS Celestron 2.0" Diameter Tripod Legs,CG-5 Advanced Equatorial Mount has 4 Counterweights of Fully Balanced 44lb or 20 Kilogram CounterWeights, for Full Equatorial C.C.D.Camera,Pro-DSLRs,GuideScopes,Off-Axis Guider all Payload by Balanced on 4 CounterWeights.35lb.TorkCG-5 mount!

  • Yes, 'mirror flop' may be a problem when imaging; pity scope has no mirror lock.

  • I am getting my cpc1100 on Friday and cant wait any longer!!Is it okay to power the scope off the mains using a celestron power adapter?I dont trust the celestron 17 amp power tank (It did not get a very good writeup in the forun's.Please advise me what to do,thank's.

  • Yes, and focal reducer would work but you are limited to no longer than 40mm 55mm Televue is too long and will cause vingetting. at f/10 its 2800mm FL and at 6.3 Its 1764mm. so 40mm= 44x. at f/6.3 40mm=70x at f/10

  • nice video. would a focal reducer work with this scope, to allow a reduced magnification to get the full nebula in the field?
