Wow how did this turn into a discussion on race? Did Christ not come to save all of us, Black or White, rich or poor. Shouldn't we as Christians try to find things that unite us instead of divide us?
I personally don't mind CCM, but black people generally (generally) prefer gospel.
My objection is that our churches are segregated, our music is segregated, and every other aspect of American Church life is, by and large (not in every case, of course) a racially segregated experience.
And I find it preposterous that we're supposed to believe that this one song can do what decades of well-intentioned transracial efforts at reconciliation could not.
The woman playing the violin, Ruth McGinnis, a dear friend of Amy's, lost her 3 year battle with ovarian cancer (Oct. 6, 2009). My heart goes out to Amy and all of Ruth's friends ~ her beautiful gift of music will live on forever! Thanks for posting this video ~ one of my favorite performances by Amy!
wow that is very sad, how did you find out about that? My heart also goes out to their friends and families right now. Cancer is an awful preditor and has killed so many of our loved ones already. How many more precious lives is this disease going to take? :o(
Wow. The intentionally-racially-diverse children's choir, the outfit Amy is wearing that makes her look like a ghost, the lots-of-words-without-much-meaning song, the enthusiasm of the crowd.
what are you talking about? lol the words have a lot of meaning. I think amy looks great, and there is a racially diverse childrens chior, because the song is about racially diverse children... Duh. wow.. you really just have so much negativity in you don't you?
well whos fault is that? Perhaps blacks don't like contemporary christian music? I don't know, but I wouldn't know. so what are you saying? I don't understand your argument.
yet another great song from this legendary songwriter/singer

It's almost too much to take. Almost.

She's singing about the children of the world. Do you think it would have been better to not have a racially diverse choir?

@Pam4Rob I'm saying, as a black man, that the only time you seem to see black people at a contemporary Christian concert, they are on stage.
