  • My how times have changed! They guy won just $50 and is happy!

  • I heard about chicken eyeglasses on Storage Wars.

  • john daly is adorable!

  • 2 pople in this episode had the awnser on their face!

  • One of the most bizarre occupations ever! I want to see those on a chicken X-D

  • @ShawDAMAN You Tube has a clip of chickens wearing the very glasses this gentleman sells. If you type "chicken glasses" in the You Tube search engine, you will find the clip I am referring to. You tube won't allow me to cut and paste the link.

  • This is the most funniest episode of what's my line.

  • Dorothy was extremely bright.

  • This was funny. I have a question: does anyone know what was the episode when Arlene Francis guesses what the guest's profession is, but doesn't expect to be right and the audiences starts applauding and she looks surprised? I know this isn't very clear but anyway...Cause I liked that episode, but I can't remember what is was.

  • Hmm, I've come across 2 like that. Arlene used to get a lot of the professions on a throw-away--she'd just mention it out of the blue and it would turn out to be right like in the episode on Ladies Pistols. Anyway, Motorcycle Cop & Sauna Baths are 2 instances when she gets the profession and looks surprised. Hope this helps!

  • Thank you so much :)

  • @GEVMM You may be thinking of when she guessed that a woman dove on a horse into a pool....

  • @GEVMM That was the "Sauna Bath" episode. Arlene looked startled when the audience starting clapping, almost as if she was trying to find out if something else was going on in the studio.

  • OH! This was hilarious!

I liked it when Arlene (I thought it was Arlene's voice) said "Gloves."

I never, *never* dreamed of chickens wearing eyeglasses. I would love to see a chicken with a pair of eyeglasses...I wonder if they still make them?

  • 2 to 3 million a year??? wow.

  • Kilgallen and Arlene are gaining an increasing fan club with all generations younger and old. The two of them really made yjis show; along to a lesser degree John Daly---not that some of the others weren't very good.

  • This is one of the funniest WML clips as yet. More crazy occupations, please!! ;-)

  • MR LEWIS: I think we should find out the part of the chicken he changes.

    DOROTHY: Let's

MR LEWIS: Does the part that changes..

Dorothy and Arlene look like they are going to start crying with laughter when this happens lol

  • Do you think they are laughing because they believe he castrate chickens???

  • Yeah, I think so.. could be wrong, but those blushing laughs from Dorothy and Arlene certainly indicate thats what they were thinking lol

  • Dorothy--so bright!

  • LOL - One of the best WML I've ever seen :D

  • Their reactions starting at 7:40 are great.

  • Something to stop it scratching for chickens?

    Gloves!

    Haha i love arlene

  • "He teaches them how to cross the street" Good ole Arlene :-D

  • LOL I love her! :D

  • AS DO I haha how can you not. When she laughs it makes me laugh. I bet she was one of those people that lit up a room when she walked into a dinner party. She just makes you smile! =)

  • What a wild segment! Mr. Lewis almost fell off his chair when the line was revealed. Thank you for posting this.

  • One word: Priceless :)

    I love this show!

  • terrific

thank you so much for posting

I spent an hour watching these segments.

  • Glad you enjoyed it.

  • John Daly is the master of interpretive semantics, when he is not doubled over with laughter. Thanx for posting this particular sequence as an example of why WML was a great entertainment: it is one of the few nighttime CBS episodes I can remember where the product actually gets displayed. (In 1957, a gold prospector brought a gold nugget.) Displayed on Daly's nose makes the whole thing even funnier.

  • Thanks for posting this classic. Dorothy Kilgallen rules. Notice that with the quality of her questioning she practically singlehandedly figures out that Nadler is associated to chickens -- but then everyone forgets that there is a product involved. Great asides, though, hysterically funny sequence. Daly is the master of interpretive semantics,

  • Thanks for posting. That is What's My Line? at

it's best. A guest with an occupation from left field and the panel almost getting to it.
