  • @rick36012 The Beatles and The Rolling Stones were contemporaries of each other from 1962 to 1970, when The Beatles officially broke up. The Beatles taught everybody how to rock or "re-rock." Including the "greatest" musical artists of the time, e.g., Elvis Presley; The Rolling Stones; etc.

  • Was this really on the UK version of Rubber Soul? We Yanks didn't get it until Beatles VI. The lyrics are really arrogant, but I love the harmonies, and I know The Boys struggled to do it live on their 1966 tour.

  • Should have called it the "friend zone song".

  • George, my fav Beatle; Happy B-day ! John

  • Happy bday George!

  • the best !!!!!

  • Who Could dislike this ??????

  • @ThePug96

apparently only 5 people out of 430k + views

  • one of the best songs of the beatles... who can be so heartless to dislike this?

  • from 62 to 66 that`s my favorite

  • Carve your number on my wall and maybe you will get a call from me. :)

  • On of my favorite songs, yet very underrated.

  • Most underrated song on Rubber Soul

  • He got this one from the Byrds' Bells of Rhymney. He sent the demo tape to Roger McGuinn with a note saying "thanks".

  • @DoctorBohr You got that wrong George had the 2nd Ric 12 ever made McGuinn started playing a Ric after he heard this.

  • @zoot2233 Yes, McGuinn saw Harrison's 12 string on Hard Day's Night back in 64 and was inspired to play one himself. But George was inspired by Bells of Rhymney in mid 65 to write this song.

  • @zoot2233 Roger saw George playing the Rckenbacker in

the first Beatles' movie, then went and got one soon after. "If

    I Needed Someone" was written and recorded later on;

(didn't George send Roger an acetate of "Needed Someone"

as a gift after the Beatles had recorded it?)

  • I spent two grand on a Rickenbacker 12 string just to play this!

  • @zoot2233 money well spent

  • i can't stay longer then one minute to a song, because i already see another great one!

  • Hey guys, I'm 15 and if you have any spare time please check out my guitar covers on my channel. It sucks advertising like this but it's the only way to get exposure thanks if you check them out :)

  • Songs like this show us just how truly brilliant George was and how his songwriting was on par with John and Pauls.

  • GREAT GREAT GREAT song !

  • post your number on my wall and maybe you will get a call from me.. if I needed someone

  • this is one of those songs that you should listen in the summersun, while closing youre eyes and fly away with

  • that guitar tone... a ma zing

  • Beatles Always make me smile <3

  • brilliant three part harmony singing...

  • That GOD I had older brothers and sisters in the 60's. I hear this song and I'm 9 years old again, free and happy. I sudder to think what I might have missed otherwise.

  • Four more people to hunt down.......

  • Me, if I needed some one, i guess it will be George :(

  • 'carve your number on my Wall'.....on my Facebook wall that is ;-) (sorry couldn't help myself)

  • @BoilingTheKettle LOL, good one. Always loved that line, "Carve your number on my wall and maybe...." Maybe George saw the future? :D

  • @BoilingTheKettle everytime i heard the song i tought of facebook

  • @RonaldAlley

    Woah, nice connection!

  • this is one of George Harrison's underrated songs

  • 4 Justin Bieber fans...

  • THE COVER OF THIS aLBUM IS fantastic!!!

  • Something about their harmonizing is almost... Haunting but in a good way... Sorta like an ear trip, i dont know how to put it but I like it :)

  • grandiosa cancion cantada por harrison

  • here comes the sun is far better... but think what you will.

  • @fletch2240 I agree, but you should look up long, long, long. It's also a spectacular Harrison song. One of my favorites, actually.

  • @XIDoStuffX Thanks for the reminder. Haven't heard that song for a long, long, long time and it is spectacular!

  • @XIDoStuffX i have heard them all man :)

  • its good but not the best

  • This is the Beatles best song ever.

  • @MrTonyCola Its one of my favorites. I never grow tired of any of The Beatles songs

  • how cool is this song...

  • A song influenced by The Byrds. This song was inspired by the Byrds version of Bells of Rhymnei. Roger Mcguinn admired George Harrison, but the converse is also true

  • this song sounds psychedelic at times

  • Great song.

  • Bought this at the time but haven't heard this track for decades and after all these years it sounds the most interesting one on the album - George's composition as I recall. Lennon and McCartney could knock em out at the drop of a hat while George seemed to have to work at his songs which now seem to have more about them than at the time. What incredibly talented lads.

  • @zthetha Are you saying that since George had to work harder on his songs, his songs seemed more intricate and complex than John's and Paul's. For me personally, I love all three's songs. But I tend to hum George's songs in my head more.

  • @mrbobevans Why do you hum it in your head?

  • Why Do They Have A Rolling Stones Magazine?!?! Why Not A Beatles Magazine!!!

  • The very first hypothetically speaking song

  • George's contributions were always pure Beatles. Love the Lennon/ McCartney designation and richly deserved, but George always brought an equal measure of Beatles composition and was still the main man on lead guitar and overall Beatles ambience. This is another great George song that I think at this point may lead one to wonder why all songs weren't just designated: Lennon/McCartney/Harrison.

  • @lateforthesky61 don't you think that that is getting carried away a little bit? that last statement. he didn't write that much. One maybe two songs per album. So to get a writing credit on every song?

  • The Beatles are BETTER than The Rolling Stones!!

  • @jeffreygaudreault What of it?

  • @jeffreygaudreault No, they're not........don't ever compare classic rock bands. It's what ur in the mood for.

  • @Timmeh0625 hell yeah man!!!

  • @jeffreygaudreault The Beatles are DIFFERENT than The Rolling Stones. Both were excellent bands in their own way.

  • great to her the Geroge, John and Paul voices starting at 0:24...awesome!!!

  • George owns it.

  • well let me tell you, if it was'nt for these guys you would'nt be hereing the music of today !!! which manly sucks for the most part ...

  • Nice 12 String Rickenbacker sound

  • I love love LOVE when george sings lead :)

  • i ♥ george

  • i always used to sing the riff to this all the time when i was little! i just found out where i got it from O_o and i grew up with this music....weird.

  • @iowkidd Who else thinks that poser Liam Gallagher tries to look like George Harrison, instead!

  • @drkam6

Actually Liam Gallagher is a great musician as is Oasis anyone who says otherwise is an ignorant twat or just wanting to start an arguement and this is coming from an massive Beatles fan so get it up yee

  • I forgot about this song yes george did write some wonderful songs classic playing george

  • lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics lyrics

    Beatles.

  • I fuckin love this tune!!!

  • 1.08-1.22 is arguably the most beuatiful bridge in any Beatles song, at least pre-Abbey Road. It sounds so poignant as it descends and you wonder whether the Byrds (with a Beatles fan in McGuinn) were, in turn, inspiring back on Harrison.

  • One of the best Harrison songs

  • Oh, das kannte ich noch garnicht :) immer was neues :P

  • RIP John Lennon and George Harrison.

  • sounds like the byrds and george harrison also said he was ripping them off in this song

  • @MrGhost321 Yes, and Roger McGuinn also outed himself as a big fan of Harrison's rickenbacker guitar work. Mutual inspiration ... !

  • This has always been one of my favourite Beatles songs. Out of the shadown of Lennon/McCartney emerged one of the greatest songwriters ever in Harrison

  • Golliwogg APPROVES of this song.

  • George was just the weaker songwriter....yeah RIGHT!!!!

  • love this song... my fav beatle's track

  • grandiosas armonias

  • Mark David Chapman is an Animal!!!!!!

  • @dinger129 Who's that? You don't know? Ok, LET"S NOT TALK ABOUT FICTIONAL PEOPLE.

  • I effing love this. I´m gonna play The Beatles Rockband now.

  • A guy dedicated this song to me and I was like, the beatles always have a song for a certain emotion.

  • I'm 1 and a half years old, and all the other babies are into lady gaga and justin beiber and they think I'm super weird because I listen to the beatles and classic rock and other music of the 60's 70's and 80's. That's right, fuck off all you 13 year old's listening to the beatles... step aside for the new generation of beatles fans.

  • I hated my mom for a point of my life, because she made the beatles sound like they were bad, gay singers.... i still hate her make me think that...

  • @XxxSKULLISEMOxxX She needs a new pair of ears.

  • @XxxSKULLISEMOxxX my parents told me when i was about 5, that the beatles were atheist, and that they didnt believe and god, and all this shit,

  • @DewsRandom Imagine theres no heaven. Its easy if you try. No hell below us...and no religion too. Imagine all the people living life in peace. Obviously you dont need religion to be a beautiful person.

  • @notnilccm Of course not, but i do believe someone made all this, i mean, seriously this is a beautiful place, but is people like mark chapman who make it a living hell!!

  • @DewsRandom Mark Chapman is a Catholic.

  • @notnilccm I dont give a shit, hes going to hell or where is a bad place

  • @DewsRandom No, it says in the bible that if you repent regardless of your past sins you still have a chance at heaven. A bit ironic considering John Lennon doesnt have that chance anymore. But... thats yer bible buddy.

  • @notnilccm Woah bro, your confusing with the wrong people... don't say buddy it makes you look like a dick, just saying...

  • @DewsRandom Sorry pal

  • @DewsRandom My dad ever talked about of the beatles.... and im soo sorry! how i started to love the beatles is because i stared in a play about the beatles and i had to listen to their music and i made it to here... where i am like their #1 fan! :)

  • Rubber Soul??? Nah! They were the Heart & Soul of my generation... Now we are just fading awa.......

  • The Beatles to record this great tune took the Byrds harmony and they adjusted to their own format and style. They told that in a interview. There is no doubt that they never copied The Byrds, but what it really happened was the realm of 60s music started to get a variety and The Beatles realized that they had to go on into the race, and never, of course, stayed slept.

  • @juanunderground em George Harrison sent Mcguinn a demo if this track through Derek Taylor the press agent for both the Byrds and the Beatles saying thanks JIM this is inspired by the Bells of Rymney and the drumming on She dont care about time no question. not to mention the Beatles turned on to the Ravi Shankar thanks to a LSD fuel party in LA with Mcguinn and Crosby.. She Said She Said was written about that night with the two of them and Peter Fonda Mcguinns guest that night.

  • the one all the way to the left is the hottest.

    just sayin...

  • @pooptartsarecool George.

  • @allykat4632 i know. :D

  • "If I needed someone" I need John and George back.........

  • one of george"s classic song.

  • I really need someone. but the problem is that i can't approach a girl. man this song makes me cry!

  • Comment removed

  • I love how John is always looking straight into the camera... always XD

  • i need someone to love. T_T

  • Simply,more than a great song Beatles 4ever!!!!

  • the fantastic four

  • Love that bassline.

  • @DoctorPencilK lol hahaha

  • Espetacular!!!

  • @LaytonMario3 He was, but played with right-hander's set up on his kit. That's why his drumming is so........ err........ 'different' lol

  • Love the Hollies but always thought their version of this was crap.

  • Simply one of the best tunes . . . EVER

  • george is playing a 12 string rickenbacker.

  • @wiisalute Ha, its got 12 likes, One Like Per String ;D

  • @wiisalute Great sound! The first time he did it was on "A Hard Day's Night".

  • @wiisalute The guitar on this song was the 2nd 12 string he owned, and this was the first song he played it on. This 2nd guitar was stolen after their Candlstick Park gig in San Francisco, Aug. 29th 1966. He was glad it wasn't the other guitar, and the stolen one has never surfaced.

  • i love the beatles! anyone who will disagree can shut up their mouth forever

  • There's no "best Beatle", it's something called "favorite Beatle". I don't know who's my favorite Beatle - it's too hard to judge! (If I had to choose only one, that had to be Ringo)

  • I miss you George !!!!!

  • ive always enjoyed ringo's style. not fancy, but it sure moves the song ahead.

  • George Harrison played TWELVE STRING GUITAR for almost all the songs he did for the beatles, its why its semi-impossible to accurately recreate. and NOT ANY normal 12 string, his Rick had an embedded compressor, so NO OTHER 12 string sounded like it.....

  • George is cool, but the people saying he is better than John and Paul are fucking crazy.

  • losamoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo feossssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

  • @KiranaForever Good observation. I remember an interview with McCartney where he acknowledged that the guitar sound (I believe he called it the "jangle") of this song was STRONGLY influenced by The Byrds. Oddly enough, I also remember Crosby of The Byrds dismissing any comparison between them and The Beatles. He humbly said they weren't even close to to The Beatles caliber. Probably so (IMHO the Beatles = Best) but Byrds rocked too for a way too short period of time.

  • The Damned took this riff for Edward the Bear?

  • Why "carve"? Why not "write"? One word: Manson!!!!

  • @JonBenet6 So that it stays there.

  • The best Beatle this the best Beatle that...jeez, the way you all go on, I'm not from that era but they all contributed...sheesh.

  • It was on British Rubber Soul and the American Yesterday and Today. Not on the original American Rubber Soul.

  • @RickMH1 The US versions can go to hell. The US versions completely ruin the classic, perfectly-arranged tracklistings of their albums. Yesterday and Today's tracklisting is absolutely nightmarish.

Oh, and by the way, this is coming from an AMERICAN, so no hating.

  • @ttrobasuks If it's not on Rubber Soul then what have I been rocking out to in my car with the window down at a ridiculously loud volume since Saturday? You sir are going solely by the chopped up AMERICAN album listings for your information. True devotees go by the ORIGINAL UK track listings.

  • George was such a brilliant songwriter. somewhat overshadowed by john and paul. three geniuses in one group. not bad.

  • lol fools, just listen

  • Me parece que este album es el mas "John Lennon'album" de todos los de los beatles , no?

  • @ttrbobasuks It is on Rubber Soul!!!!!!!!

  • this song is not on rubber soul you dumb ass. you just probably went by what the video game said

  • @ttrbobasuks dude it is on rubber soul i bought the album if you dont know that then your not a beatles fan you dumbass

  • @ttrbobasuks I have the box set. And what video game? lmfao.

  • Lovely song

  • I cant believe that I thought that Beatles were "overrated" when I was 10 but now 7 years later there my favorite band now!!

  • The 'Like' button is the understatement of the century.

  • love this song -3

  • i love this - great byrds influence

  • check the rip in john's jacket shoulder - partly airbrushed out ....

  • oh what will you give me say the sad bells of rhymney...oh wait wrong song, lol

  • makes me feel good in dark times

  • AMO A RINGOOO

  • they don't make 'em like this anymore...
