Yeah, it's very fun to see the zig-zag marabunta, always beeing near crash! crash with the pedestrians, crash with the cars. I love to scare them by jump walking in a pedestrian pass that I have green, they thing the lights are not for them.
"you can go to party", "I can go shopping", yes yes yes.... But the most important thing is: You have to go always with the pedestrians, scaring them, never use the bike lane, cross de streets when you want (fuck the cars that respect the law), drive like a blind side-by-side, and in general, be very unrespectful. Only then you will be a real Bicing user! So easy huh?
this bikes are shit, always broken, and without brakes.
now barcelona if full of idiots that don't have a idea of riding a bike. Its fun to see them crashing into the walls and cars.
However, the city council has to build a lot of ciclist careel to "canalize" this marabunta of zig-zagCiclistfools, and this is good for the real ciclers.
next step: buid a big parking outside BCN to throw out the cars, and we'll ride relaxed and witout pollution.
@JositoBrown the whole idea of bicing is to encourage people to use public transport, not for pleasing biking pro jerks like you. You should be thankful to all those non-pro idiots like me crashing into walls. It is because of them you have more and more bike LANES to ride faster and relaxed (I agree with you in that). As Barcelona is not flat at all it is great to take the metro to go up and a bicycle to go all the way downhill. I think it is YOU the idiot carrying a bike around all the time ;)
@sssaannddii On the macro level, helmets actually reduce safety more than they increase it -- because they increase the perception that cycling is inherently unsafe, and thereby reduce the number of cyclists. Each time total number of cyclists doubles, the accident rate for each individual goes down by 30% -- which quickly overtakes any advantage helmets might give.
Personally, I wear a helmet (with my mirror and spot-beam headlamp) but helmet laws and campaigns are evil.
yea, but you can't rely on them as transport.
better than buying your own if you live in a small flat though.
