Mbongo, l'argent, money... Jo Mpoyi Kanyinda, Manseba repose en paix.

  • Sugacosta, see my brief translation below. Thanks!!. Its a very wholesome music.

  • "MBONGO, MONEY who created you"Money"? MONEY you are maker and destroyer of everything. What an amazing experience, I went to a witchdoctor to ask for a charm to make money, but alas, the witchdoctor again asked me for MONEY- the very thing I was looking for! Whoever created you MONEY, who is your mother? I heard one day from the elders when they were discussing about you MONEY, they said your mother gave birth to two of you. You MONEY are the elder child and your sibling is called "WOMAN". Oh

  • @ApilOdokotek Thank you bwana for the translation.

  • @ApilOdokotek thank you so much for this translation.

  • what a voice - superb!

  • What is this song about? any little translation would help. Unlock the mystery of the lyrics for those of us that are captivated by the music and voice but dont know the meaning. Thanks

    Love

  • kitiko trop

  • This is what we call good music. Djo mpoyi is gone but this song will continue to rejoice us. one thing congolese musicians should know is that there is no succes without successor!

  • I believe Djo Mpoyi is sing about Mbongo which means money in Lingala...such a sweet voice

  • Quite a piece of Poetry. The words were wonderfully put together and sang by one of the greatest voices of all time, the late Djo Mpoyi.I enjoy listening to this in heavy traffic and I am reminded of Home Kenya.

  • guys Djoy mpoy is asking money where it comes from, who is the mother and why it is making blood brothers turn against each other. very educative lyrics!!!

  • Djoooo Mpoyi what a voice

  • Oh what a golden voice ! We miss you Djo Mpoyi.RIP Great African.

  • man this is a nice music....some sweet stuff...thanks..

  • Can;t get enough of this!!!!! thanks Larry boy!

  • You are most welcome, Nyakendu

  • sweet and nostalic melody. Makes my mind wanna get nurtured by beautiful things

  • One of the best . The Album was so well made. Mbongo , Bomba bomba mabe , Oh Miguel , Lotambe & Lutandila all first rate arrangements.

  • I have searched for years, thank God, for answering my prayer. This is the song of the millenium.

  • Terrific! what lyrics! what Djo Mpoy's voice! congolese's the best! Thanks for this nostalgic song! What era!

  • I almost agree with you there, Djo Mpoyi was one of the best singers in TPOK Jazz!

  • I have no words to express the feeling,I just wonder if we will ever have an assembly of musicians each with unique character in-put of this magnitude. And looking at what is happening in Zaire right now, my soul is tearful......violence, hunger, homelessness, name it.The troops and rebels alike should listen to these tunes. Use guitars instead of guns!

  • Amen to your words, Sir. The rest of us from Kenya and other places always looked to Zaire(Congo) for the best music, but now all that is gone, and all we have is...nothing! The amount of suffering Congo has gone through over the last decade is just unspeakable, and unfortunately, when Congo bleeds, we all do - Kenya, Somalia, Sudan, all of Africa!

    Thanks for your comments!

  • Ps post Lotambe. It's in the same CD. Asante.

  • Been looking for this song all my life!!! Thanks Larryboy1995. Memories are surely made of this.

  • You're welcome, Nyakendu. This is a great song indeed!

  • I think Lotambe is the next song in this CD. Thanks once more.

  • This is the ring tone on my cell phone...cool vibes!

  • Amen to that, Sir!
