Don't think you can compare the RS and the 200. Technically they are both hot hatches but the differences are huge. 2.5 litre turbo to a N/A 2.0? You have to mod the shit out of the Clio to match the power with ITB's or turbo/supercharger...that's why they have the Megane R26R ;)

@mrblondeno2 Nicer interior, better build quality and better engine but you have to pay extra for kit that is standard on 182. Downside is you can only have 4 people, on the RS models they did away with the central rear belt. What about a 182 trophy or a Clio V6 mark 2 ? Limited production numbers guarantees uniqueness and desirability.

Glad for the good comment. I started out with a Smart roadster, im on my second one now and wont get rid. so i wanted a bigger car that had more power. But still with all the power that the clio has and everything.......i still dont believe its as fun to drive as my smart. Thats why im keeping it. But the clio is a beautiful car i have to admit.

My definition of "eater" would be a car that beats another hands down in all situations. Now don't get me wrong, I like the clio but to say it's a Focus RS eater is just not true in my eyes, as it can't match the Fords staight line speed. Be interesting to see what it laps the Nurburgring in. I would be suprise if it beats the 8:26 set by the RS

the guy driving the racing blue 200 need to put his foot down a bit more, sounds like he's only revving to 5000 revs, youve really got to work these cars to get the most out of them, they'l reward you with a big smile on your face. it's the best handling hot hatch out there by far! very thirsty though,

In the UK and Canada, grey-market imports are no big deal and fairly common. The US Department of Transportation HATES them and makes it near impossible and VERY expensive to do.
Yeah the fuel is pricey, but so are the cars. Yet everyone buys them anyway. The Clio 200 Cup is £16,115 which is considered cheap in the UK, but that equals $26,407. That car could never sell here for that much. And the Megan 250 Cup costs as much there as an Lancer Evolution X MR here, which there costs as much as a Boxster S here, etc etc etc
I have a 197, hated the 200 at first but it's growing on me. Want something with a turbo next though, the pull on this thing below 3000 rpm is non existent. Have to rev to much to pass cars. For racing its one of the best but daily driving, not so much.
I wouldn't call ait a Focus RS eater at all, it may just about hang on on the twisty stuff but in a straight line the FRS will cane it! I'm talking about the mk2 FRS by the way :) I have a 182 cup, Clio's are great little cars, shame about the build quality :(
197 looks nicer tho at the front end you have to agree, and yes im a ford guy but renaults are next to none in cornering ability new ones anyway for the sake of 3 bhp and no real difference on accelaration any driver other than a pro can do, then save yourself a few k n get a 1 yr old 197
Just bought an RS 200 and there isnt anything in its class that will keep up with it in the corners, only the VXR Corsa will keep up in a straight line which would be great if we lived back in the roman era where corners didnt exsist. However as soon as u reach any corner the VXR is screwed. This is an excellent car for anyday.
Hey Mate I have recently traded my clio williams for an awesome 200 cup . The williams feels quicker off the mark and more exciting . This said i feel the 200 cup is a more grown up version it handles like no other car ,you watch cars disapear behind you on corners as the 200 grips and grips although in the wet the 200 is shockingly bad compared to the williams . if your after a more grown up williams go for it , it handles better and is faster although it lacks the fast feel of the williams.
Looks are important your right, but the biggest factor? You couldnt be more wrong. Go on a test of a 197 or a 200 and chuck it round some corners and have a re think ;-)

The Clio rs Is an absolutely great Little Car.the engine and the chassis are fantastic.
For Sure you re not in a infiniti interior but i like the simplicity inside the clio;and also the seats are great.
I ve got a rs 2000 red and and a 3RS phase 1 in Racing blue Too.
The renault Sport F4R engine (all evolutions) is the best 2.O l atmo ever with the Type R too.(i love Honda Too).
Peugeot is for me dead in terms of agressivity since the last 306 S16.
I will Love to see a girl in a 3rs Sirus.
