  • IoI..they sang this song on a christmas celebration. hahahahaha

  • This is a Jewish song and part of the Jewish liturgy.....It has absolutely NO PLACE whatsoever in christian concerts or any services.

  • I'm singing soprano on this in my chorale. We just got it yesterday and are singing it next Wednesday on a concert... short notice, but we're doing it...

  • I'm singing the Soprano part for this song in my Chorale. I love it! I wish I had the sheet music right now! It's such a beautiful song and y'all did a wonderful job on it! [:

  • I just got a solo in this song for my chorus.

    Ya'll are good.

  • @assassinforever100 me tooo

  • everyone shut up! seriously? we sang this for our christmas concert. but that doesnt mean that its for christmas. it means were making a variety so we can respect everyones religious views. sheesh

  • May the One who makes peace send peace to us and all of Israel.

  • Perfectly appropriate for Christmas....the song is about the one who brings peace in high places.....referring to the Wonderful Counselor....Prince of Peace...the Christ Child....I use it with my choir. Beautiful piece. Our Christian Judeo roots are united.

  • @Doriann1953 Man, I wish you guys would educate yourselves. This song isn't referring to the blah, blah, blah of Christianity. This is actually part of the Jewish liturgy for every Shabbat and is recited about 5 times throughout the service. I used to be a Christian & then converted to Judaism. If you had any idea how insulting it was for you to say this was about Christianity, you wouldn't make the argument. Some things are just different, that's what makes all religions unique!

  • I'm a little sad that the Altos were a bit drowned out by the Sopranos, I sang the Alto part in this song in Choir and it was so beautiful.

Wish I still had the sheet music for it ;D

  • We're learning this for our upcoming concert. Beautiful, soulful melody. Oseh Shalom Israel and the world.

  • I'm doing this for chorus ^^.

  • @scottydawg1234567 me tooo

  • imma sing this song for choir, and whoever wants the translations

ose shalom bimromav: the onhe who makes peace in the heavens

hu ya'ase shalom aleynu: may he make peace for us

veh'al kol yisreal: and for all israel

veh'imru, imru amen: and let us say, let us say amen

    enjoy!

    :D

  • Who is the director? We are singing this song in chorus and it is beautiful. Thanks for the video. Nice performance!

  • This song brings back memories...sang this this year...such a fantastic song

  • I'm not Jewish, but this was my favorite song to sing in my high school chorus (Alto 1 was the best part to sing; the tenors were a close second). It always sent chills down my spine and tingles along my pores when we sang it (with accents and we got a Superior for it at state competition!). The beauty in the meaning of the lyrics combined with the vocal talent-- incredible. Regardless of religious affiliations, the song at its core is devoted to peace. That's something we should all get behind.

  • who can translate in english this song?i tink there are beautiful verses

  • @symohsn well, ima tell u he translations cause were gonna sing this for choir, but the translations rnt gonna be in order ose shalom bimromav : the one who makes peace in the heavens. hu ya'ase shalom aleynu : may he make peace for us.

veh;al kol yisreal : and for all isreal. vehimru, imru amen : and let us say, lets us say amen

  • I think it it sounded wonderful!! Chords were very tight...and together :) good job!

  • ugh:( nice try, but i just didn't hear any jewishyness there. it sounded a lot more Christian. srry, nice try

  • Sorry but this is rediculous. what on earth happened to the melody and the arrangement is awful. Love you for the effort though :)

  • im reading the music write now off the sheet and the melody is actualy off at the end but the rest was perfectly fine

  • I'm sorry, I was harsh, maybe it is just the arrangement?

  • well they made up new versions of melodies for all these songs-- i can't stand services now. Good rendition tho.

  • im not jewish but ive done this song with a choris of 135 people and it was amazing and most of them had no clue wat they were singing its how it comes out not if you no wat it means that matters

  • @darksage702 it matters to no what ur singing.

its an amazing song bbut they should no what their singing before they sing it.

  • neither do we.

  • this was sung very well. my only problem was that the vowel sounds were sung far to bright and this song is in a minor key signature.

  • Love this song. We're singing this next week for our Christmas Concert

  • @Edsgirl78 - CHRISTMAS CONCERT!?!?! I'm very supportive of interfaith activities, but saying this is a CHRISTMAS song is like saying "trick or treat" is an Easter traditon! I love the effort put into this, but please be sensitive of the history of the Jewish people. We were saying this in our prayers long before the tradition of Christmas came into being & at a time when Christian persecution of our people was rampant. This IS NOT a Christmas song!

  • @MeatRocket72 Oh... I'm sorry...well this was during my freshman year of high school and my choir director just told us, "This is what we're singing." so I did. I'm sorry if this offended you.

  • vampgirl you spelled hebrew wrong!!!

  • well was in love with one of the boys now i like a new boy lol whatcha gonna do im a teenage girl

  • and also im soo in love with one of the boys in there he is so cute!! and he is a good singer too!!!

  • im doing it at my middle skool again i did it wen i was in 6th but my old teacher left n we got a new one and i guess they wanted us to sing it again

  • It's Hebrew, and my high school is singing it. I'm a Soprano. And freshman, sophomores, juniors and seniors are all singing it together.

  • its not jewish its greek, and its also a prayer

  • no its not greek.. its hebrew

  • It's Hebrew. Which is Mostly Jewish.

  • it is a jewish song its in Hebrewe duaaa i should know im singing it and all our teachers say its in hebrew

  • Just because they aren't jewish doesn't mean they can't sing s hebrew song. It's a language.

  • It's a Jewish prayer song, if it was just like a pop song in Hebrew I wouldn't care. but it's just awkward because of all the years Judaism was discriminated against but now it's cool to sing our songs cus it's fun and stuff. tight.

  • im singing this at my middle school. we sound amAZingggg. <3

  • i'm doing this in my middle school. we sound pretty good.

  • Wow you are me to what school do u go 2

  • i thought it was exelent all though they could have tried to put in a violin and some chelos in it like in the acompinament

  • my advanced choir at CPMA Middle School is singing this in class :) I like us better...We have like four tenors a few altos(more than ten I would think...Including me) And really good Sepranos :)

  • Lol what's with all the "we did this better" comments? It's not a competition, guys, unless you're actually in a competition against this choir. Chill. XD Sounds lovely!

  • greetings from paris :)!

  • acey668 is so full of her/his self its embarasing and were does he/she get the we high educated people i sang this last year and we did just as good not any better not any worse its the effort that counts not the sound

  • omq ma class iis foiinq diis song 2 ii hate iit

  • omq am doiinq diis song ii hate iit iis soo freakiinq confusiinq!!!! :(

  • What's confusing is you using "q"s for "g"s

  • our 5th grade class is doing this

  • me too!!!

  • its so pretty to sing.

  • doing it in choir is it considered hardfor grade 4?

  • Good but not great, my old choir did it better and we were just a all boys choir!

  • Excellent job! It's very heart-warming to actually HEAR the effort you all put into this. Thank you!

  • Oseh Shalom Israel.

  • Cultures shouldn't mix.

If THEY so enjoyed singing our songs, maybe they shouldn't have burned us at the stake and tortuted us for the past 2,000 years or so.

I know what the Torah teaches, and the Torah does not teach grudges, but I hold a grudge.

  • @jsbeard18 That's a pretty hard-hearted way of looking at things. You shouldn't throw the baby out with the bath water. Anyone who may love this song is obviously not out to get you or destroy something as sacred as one's right to worship in their religion. I refuse to be affiliated with a specific religion (though I have faith in God) and I love this song. I love this song because I believe in peace, God, love, and the right to believe in all of those things.

  • @jsbeard18 Continuing from that last thought: Am I still allowed to enjoy this even if I, nor my ancestors, have done you no wrong, though I'm not Jewish? My ancestors have also faced a legacy of brutality, but it's irrational to hold on to it as a grudge. Then there will never be peace. I certainly don't dislike white people just because history shows all the reasons why I should. We have to learn from the pain of the past and grow to never repeat it, not immortalize it.

  • Jsbeard18, I came across this video while looking for an authentic Jewish choir or group of people who are indeed singing the traditional melody and uniquely able to infuse the song with the holiness it deserves.

I notice there is nothing in your collection of videos that is any improvement over the "bastardized" effort of these "aliens." Your video of Harry Potter masturbating is not much consolation.

May the day come soon when you are strong to do tikkun olam, and not merely to criticize.

  • i played this at my orchestra concert. Just an instrumental version, though.
