This piece is not played by William Bennett in this recording but from James Galway it is taken from the famous vinile record showpieces published in 1975 by RCA .
Esta peça não é tocada por William Bennett nesta gravação, mas sim o Mestre James Galway e foi copiada dos famosos showpieces recorde vinile publicados em 1975 pela RCA.
@mormika Would agree I think Jimmy stayed too long at the playing....others have, by now, eclipsed him , but many stand on his shoulders...remembering back to the early 70s he did a huge amount to promote the flute.
I have to agree. Galway was never rated by fellow musicians, but pushed himself (fair play to him for doing so..) but when you hear a natural like Wibb or Susan Milan or Peter Lloyd who weren't thinking of royalties accruing on next recording...
@mormika Yes ..WIBB is the man! Galway , I think, spoiled himself by playing some odd stuff to which he was unsuited (consider John Mc Cormack)..he was wonderful and did so much to popularise the flute.
Wibb often cuts things that weren't there originally, or things that he thinks sound stupid lol. Eg the last few bars of the Hue Fantaisie he thinks shouldn't be there so never plays them.
No believe me! I have the recording of Galway, Bezally and Milan, and now this one. There is a missing part in all the recordings excerpt the one of susan milan. The missing part is between 2:44 and 2:45. It has been cutted out, sadly. :( It's more emotional than the first double tonguing part.
haha, u're right, i looked through the score again and realised he really didnt play the 2nd part. Well, i dont have the recording of galway so i cant compare. but i did upload the susan milan and she did play both parts. maybe it was too tiring for the players or that both parts featured almost the same chord progressions and so was felt redundant...
Hi, thanks for uploading both versions, this one and the one by Susan Milan. The reason why other players don't play the 2nd double tonguing part could be that they use a different edition of the music. However, from listening to these recordings, it seems to me that Susan Milan has very clear and convincing artistic reasons for playing the 'longer' version which you can hear in her playing.

@lolcow Yes, actually, this was like a solo arrangement, to treat the flute part as a show piece, and not the original ballet score.

We should put more videos of Wibb online. I will try to find some somewhere and maybe add some new CD tracks onto youtube.
