  • You got me addicted to imitating that!

  • now my cat cant stop mowing

  • Now my sears smoke has a metal spring that touches the horn to make the sound... i would love to know all the subtle changes they made to these alarms. I think these are my favorite design for the mere fact that they are SOOO huge! I love it!

  • You should submit this video to AFV for their "Name That Sound" section of the show. My mom heard it in the other room while I was watching it in here and she thought it was a cat!

  • LOFL

  • LOL

  • Wow that is funny. Is that alarm from around 1975? My parents had one similar to that in their old house.

  • Very funny but a bit dangerous play - smoke detectors usually contain a radioactive substance, Americium :]

  • The radiation is in the sensor (that coffin-shaped metal piece). I'm only covering the horn's output hole. Plus, the radiation amount in a sensor is very minute.

  • It Ironic that the "dangerous" radioactive americium is it a coffin shaped box

    LOL

  • XD!XD! That really cracked me up! Nice video! Very cool!

  • Nice! I have one of those, and I took the horn off and measured the power going to it. It is 6 or 7 VDC. I hooked up a 9V battery to it and it sounded like that except louder. Much louder than a piezo smoke, but less annoying.

  • lol!

  • I have one.. i make a vid when i get it back...

Someone i know works at at daycare and needs it for Fire Drills

  • That is sweet.

  • LMAO

  • Hey! I have that old detector in one of my vids
