It's not a Remake. Sherlock Holmes isnt a remake of the Private Life of Sherlock Holmes is it? Nor is the Mask of Zorro a remake of the Mark of Zorro. Conan 82 is a great fantasy film Shit Conan movie though

Considering both movies with the same title and same character it is hard not to compare the two but I understand your point and appreciate the perspective.
@SpecialMark Of course the books are better, but it's closer to the character then the Arnold movies. It was originally going to be Conan 3d or Conan but supposedly they balked when the Conan tv show on TBS started, "WELL THATS WHAT I HEARRRRRRRRRRRRRD"
I love Conan, I watched the old ones when I was little. This new movie,, I had really low expectations for it, and one of the only times in my life, this movie actually was below those low expectations. The movie had no heart. I didn't give a fuck what happened to Conan. There was just about no build up, no pace, just endless action. Action is great, but u need to know how to make it matter to the person that is watching. I am very sad that now they probably won't make anymore Conan movies
I forgot to mention Conan the Barbarian (82) Is a masterpiece, its In my all time top collection with the likes of Excalibur, Beastmaster, 13th Warrior.
Remake sword & sandal films do NOT have the fantasy feel. A good review by the way.
@cfwbdude Thanks. Your list are some great Sword and Sandal movies. Really don't do those right anymore. Prince of Persia was ok but still on the whole modern Movie makers seem to miss the mark when it comes to our Sword and Sandal or Sword and Sorcery movies.
There was no scope to the film, no score to thrive the Conan entrance, Conans acting was as bad as kevins Sorbo Jercules. Most of the dialogue they would not say stuff like that back then lol.

Why do they keep remaking classics to have cinematic wow only, with little to no lasting value? Not to mention, using modern day rock for the fucking score? Get real. If the movie is set in ancient times, use a CLASSICAL score. This is one reason that the Clash of the Titans remake sucked. Why waste big budget on movies that will be soon forgotten? It's a mystery to me.
@TempleOfInanna2 Its because Hollywood has gotten so damn lazy its not funny. I don't mind the WoW if they can give it some value or show they are truly trying to make a better product. Hence to me Fright Night Remake is actually one of the better ones to come along. This one just was done wrong. Thanks for the comment.
NO FUC^&KING "CROM".......are they freakling kidding me...they didnt tell the story about conans god :CROM"..this guy is not conan...call this dude charlie.....and the voices were so american, which made the film feel like a MTV movie with hot chicks and male models....nuff said

Haven't seen this yet. I'm kinda hoping it's not as bad as so many folks are saying, but I've seen some clips that make me cringe. I suppose one must see bad movies once in a while. The human body needs to cringe every once in a while. Thanks for the review. Great one as always.
