Craig, this was insane!!! hahaaa!! I remember doing this trip and feeling exactly like the song said: out of control! ha! For some reason your video looks even more extreme than I remember....and there you were in the front! Wow, you guys took some massive tumbles out of that raft!! And when did they start making videos of rides?? I only have one photo (that one of the guides took) from one of my trips :) Anyway, this was awesome :)
Dana, this is the UPPER Gauley trip. You are thinking of the middle/lower run. I was always too chicken to do the upper Gauley until this season. I've rafted a couple of class V rapids in the past but they were NOTHING like these. The raft flip at Sweet's Falls was pretty scary. We executed a perfect rock "stamp" (postage due!) which I hope to never repeat again. All in all a fun time!
