Despite her many "Marilynisms" (for example, those half closed eyes and that mouth wiggle), as well as the obvious styling choices with her hair and makeup, she really doesn't resemble MM at all when looking straight into the camera. But, oh my, when she turned to the side to look at John @ 2:48 and 3:41, my heart stopped for a moment!
The resemblance to Marilyn is amazing. It's as if Marilyn is playing the role of a judo instructor. It's refreshing to see how much fun the panel could have with a beautiful woman and keep it CLEAN. Good CLEAN fun.
Thanks roots66, I love this woman. I wished she would have had the chance to practice some Judo in the show. Are there any more informations about her available ?
@TheBlueyedblond There were probably more stick women in the 50's then there are today. You're just confusing the minuscule amount of women there are in Hollywood compared to the real world, where women are fatter than ever before. But I agree the Hollywood ideal back then was far superior.
@TheBlueyedblond Have you never heard of Audrey Hepburn, Vera-Ellen or Katherine Hepburn? They were very skinny so I don't know what you mean by that!
@RAMINDAS Of course I have heard of them. I just meant that fuller-figured women were considered more desirable in the 1950's than they are today. No need to get so upset, it was just a comment!
@TheBlueyedblond I wasn't upset honey I just thought it was a strange thing to say, because everyone wore girdles back then to make themselves as slim as possible! I'm sorry if I came across as rude I really didn't mean to
@TheBlueyedblond While I appreciate the sentiment, don't hate on girls who are naturally that thin. Perhaps a better phrase would be, "When artificial stick-women were unheard of."
She slightly resembles Lana Turner as well.

Daly didn't like demonstrations on his show. Too bad. Gary Moore or Steve Allen on "I've Got a Secret" would have wound up flat on their backs.

Arlene is amazing! Yet again, she just happens upon the person's line! How often does she do that?

Her resemblance to Marilyn is mostly superficial except for the eyes - hers are the same shape.
ameroux 2 years ago 4
This is a rarity - Daly often wrongly gives a "no" on a negative question, but this time Preston should have gotten a "no" on his first question.

Robert Preston roughly at the time he starred on Broadway in the premiere production of "The Music Man."
