Great, that made me think ... what about using those long tubular parcells you see from amazon.com in some similar way? You know those similar to toilet rolls but much longer..
Thanks for this simple and beautiful ornament idea!! I'm a library director and have a ton of empty toilet paper rolls there that I've been saving for a while to try to come up with a craft idea for kids and I would of never thought about doing something like this!!
I thought at first oh great the weird part of youtube, but i clicked on it and your idea is really great im totally going to do it :) Im a subscriber now :D
After your done wrapping presents you could use the tube from the very center to make some for gifts for the grandparents! Easy craft to do with kids, you could also cut one long piece of wrapping paper and glue along the very outside perimeter or you could stamp the outside of the roll with a large stamp (music notes or damask print) before you cut it up.
Great job! Some raffia behind the jewel would look nice too, go with the rustic colors :)
if you're into pranks, you can also take a roll and soak it in water until it's soft enough to tear apart in random, uneven pieces...squeeze (the water out) them back together into a natural looking 'dog poo' form.
I just made a couple of these and they came out really cute,,They will be hanging on my tree this x-mas...:-) Thanks for the tip. I just pasted a blue scrapbooking paper befor ecutting the roll to match the blue decorations on my tree and a big blue rhinestone in the center and walaaaa
I saw these on Carol Duval years ago. I made them white and then put white chunky glitter on them. Wouldn't they be great with Diamond Dust on them? OOOHHH! I may have to try that too! I love those TP ornaments. Mine were all shaped like snowflakes. I LOVE the idea of making them into flowers! Thanks so much fro reminding me of a wonderful craft!---leslie
Barry, You did such a great job on these. I love the idea! Thanks for posting this as a video response. You are very clever my friend! Looks beautiful and perfect for the cost minded decorator as well as the recycle fanatics! Best to you and your channel in the coming year! Rebecca
wow! creative! i think it looks more like a flower.

@xxkelly98x definitely, I would spray paint them gold or silver and glue jelly beans on them. maybe design some to look like candy cane stars LOL :D

@barrybelcher2002 but if someone has ants, maybe jelly beans aren't the best choice for going glam LOL
