I Dale am a drummer seen this band perform they were very great,me and the bass player looked at the drummer and we were amazed at the quality of this band.
Doug says that there was no audience when they played the song, due to security at the time of the L.A. riots, & that the audience was dubbed in later. ...makes it sound kinda silly when Dennis says.. "Applaud!"
If I had a wish it would be for John-Ringo-George-Paul to view this live, and them ask them what they think. This is just an amazing performance.Interesting how these 3 guys came together and started a band, just awesome chemistry!!!
I absolutely love the part at 0.37 the way they look at each other.Well if i was gonna half to make a DVD and put it in time capsule of 20 songs this performance is definitely going to be included.
TY TABOR, IS AN UNDERATED GUITAR PLAYER...I SAW THEM AT THE 'ROYAL OAK MUSIC THEATRE" THEY WERE AWESOME THE BEST PART OF THE SHOW, IS WHEN THEY SWITCHED INSTRUMENTS THEY ALL TOOK TURNS PLAYING GUITAR,BASS AND DRUMS.......
This guitar player burns like no other I've heard! He's awesome! Totally rocks! What a great Strat sound! His fingers smoke down that fret board! Unfortunately He's totally underrated by far! I hope is recognized some day!
"This is a pretty 'kick ass' version of this song...damm I saw these guys in Detroit in the late 80's, they blew the roof off of Harpo's....I will never forget that show man, it was so bad ass!!!! I had my Gretchen Goes To Nebraska album with me and after the show one of their tech's walked up to me and asked me if I wanted the guys to sign it, I said "sure"!!! He took me backstage and I met them and they each signed my LP, and were so cool!!! Thanks for posting..thanks King's X for a great sho
I LOVE this song! It reminds me of every time I went to see my Dad at the hospital, and every time going back home from the hospital. It never failed me!
Had to be fun for them--didn't they play this one live to an empty room? (fun for the sound guys, too with no audience to help absorb the sound.) Always blown away by the fact that even though they've been playing this tune for 20 years, the outro solo is always a bit different. Ty really nailed this one (like the Woodstock one.) Love Dug's little grin at about 4:09 asTy hits another of those great singing, vibrato high notes--those guys have fun playing, for sure...
Ah yes somehow I lost most of my favorite albums way back in the good ol 80"s, forgot about this band just checked out some of their new stuff maybe ill get the cd. These guys are still rockin and yes iI have a mullet.
i would love to jam with Ty ...im a flutist he rocks

I can hear it now. The empty room sound. Particularly in the vocals.

Ya know, it's funny - Every single person I've ever met loves Kings X when I play it for them for the first time.
If they'd come out in the '60's they would be called a 'vocal group'.
Because they are.

This was taped during the LA riots. There was no crowd. That was added as filler over the band. I'm not even sure Dennis Miller himself was there.

The Beatles snip at the end was a sweet, and sneaky, addition. Go, Ty!

@rjonsolo1 He's incredible. He plays behind the beat giving the tune a nice fat groove. But when you watch him he looks almost spastic.
