  • lip-sync, shame....... I'm fed up with such hopeless comments. It's easy to sit in front of a screen and criticise. If anyone can perform it better, show it but if not, just shut up or click on a different video.

  • That is real music. No gigantic sound boards and instruments just great voices in harmony.

  • It's so great how you can feel the same for years just hearing once more.......the home parties...............

  • love this song...tku so much

  • It's true!! Tight leather pants makes the voice go HIGH lol

  • hahahaha! like if they could sing as high anyway... lipsync is a shame

  • is this being lip synced? Someone smart answer... don't want any of you stupid "everything is a conspiracy" people answering this question please.

  • @TRIMYOURHEDGES Yes.

  • @TRIMYOURHEDGES it is, you can tell its the exact same version than here.

  • @407QueenDad : that's an honest reply.......lol leather pants

  • so much better than today's puke music

  • voices sound good! who dressed them ?

  • Golden

  • Lipsyncin' BIGTIME!!!!

  • @metalupyourfukingass True ! Voices don't sound young forever..lol.

  • @metalupyourfukingass It could also be the bad quality of the video and it being out of sync... think when theis was made.... lip-syncing wasn't really done... (exluding Milli Vanilli)

  • Beautyfull song. Great memories ;)

  • this isnt live right?

  • @Bobbyshaker .Nope,They all looks as Gay as each other with their girly hair and earrings and girly pants.

But all the same,,Man I love this song,,Brings back great harmony in my life 40 odd years ago

  • Brings back memories to my 56 year old heart, thanks so much!!!!!!!!! Love you all.

  • Can you name me the members at that time from left to right? Thank you!

  • @malko66 That is Rick Westwood on guitar, the origional lead singer. Drummer Dave Munden next, and bassist David Fryer, followed by guitarist Alan Blakely and keyboardist Joe Gillingham...

  • Very mellow. Great '60's harmonies & chords. Takes me back to the 6th grade when I was really cool on my my maroon six speed Schwinn Stingray with the sparkly silver banana seat, which I got Christmas of 1969 ?! Oh yea babe !! THAT was heaven !

  • To tbherron: I believe you're mistaken about the Beatles writing this song for the Tremoloes. It was actually written by the guys who did the songwriting for the Four Seasons. I don't recall their names, but they're original members of the Four Seasons as well. It was initially performed by the Four Seasons in the early 60's but didn't catch on. The Tremoloes did a cover of "Silence is Golden" and it went to the top of the charts. One of those quirky little things about Rock and Roll.

  • If I remember the back of the Album correctly, The Beatles wrote this song for them.

I still believe the Beatles whooped it up on "Here comes my baby" I played this album about 50 times the first few days after I bought it...super memories.

    thanks for posting

  • I was related to Allan, What a great band. Dave inspired me to play the drums, grew up around the band.. What a great bunch of lads!!!

  • Thankyou, this is really lovely.

  • why i'm in japan, why I'm 20.. why..

I really want to go. I WISH You come

  • Men in Leather trousers, who can sing.

    That's how I like my men ;)

    Brilliant song :)

  • This is a playback! What you hear is exactly the studio version!

  • Those were days.... when people became famous because they actually COULD sing and practised hard for it. without autotune or that kinda shit

  • By far one of the most beautiful songs that i ever heard and its to bad they took there lives a such a young age.. heave has a place for them for sure..i play this song on my radio station and get constant request..

  • the sound is horrible on this

  • Their lip syncing.

  • super gay

  • In the year 2007, when the love of my life moved into another town and got a boyfriend, this song helped me to get along =) Thank you, Tremeloes for such a great song =)

  • wowowwoweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • Fantastic group. Seems they liked each other and had a lot of fun too.

  • 19PHS74, you're an idiot. What does that have to do with anything?

  • took me back to my graduation 1967, Those guys are terrific! They know how to get the job done! love it!!!

  • I was working on a cruise ship as a solo musician in 1999. These guys came on for an oldies cruise. Their live performance happens to be on of the tightest live performances i have ever seen. The live harmonies were incredible. So what if they are lip syncing. These guys can deliver.

  • Same for Chip Hawkes, who was an original bass player/singer but is not in this later lineup. He's an amazing musician as well.

  • Here's a 2007 live version where they are singing not lip sync' - much better! :D watch?v=5tZQJ0k3UYo&feature=related

  • Ich liebe dieses Lied noch immer , es war damals schon ein Ohrwurm , da war ich gerade 4 Jahre alt !!! Kan mich aber noch erinnern wie es damals ständig im Radio gespielt wurde.. :-)

  • You're right!

  • Lip sync or not, who cares.?It was their song to begin with! You know, I'd rather see them lip syncing the original than a present tense version where they don't do the song justice. They look like they were having a blast and you can't begrudge them that. They earned it!!

  • Fantastic video .Thanks

  • They look like they're really enjoying themselves after all these years. What a fun, lovely group.

  • Like I said, great song, and lip synced. If you can play the original and this version side-by-side you'd know pretty easily it's the same version.

  • Great song, thanks for posting. But this is definitely the original on playback - there is no way they sound exactly like the original recording all these years later.

  • y? its not they cant sing because it has been years l8er once a singer always a singer and you can c if peeps mime

  • toomytex is right. This is a very hard song to sing. I know because my band just recorded a version. Check out our video and you'll see we had to use a harmonizer to get the high notes (maybe we should have tried tight leather pants instead!) In the end, all our hard work paid off because most folks are sayin' we sound better than the original.

  • thanks man, anyone with any sense would recognize the lip sync. Best of luck to your band!

  • Yep, it's pretty obvious.

Unfortunately my band has started to get lots of negative comments since we posted our version of "Silence Is Golden". We even got a death threat! Maybe that video isn't as good as I thought. I'm considering taking it off our youtube page.

  • A death threat? How sad is that? I would never take down your version, art needs no confirmation from twisted minds to be worthy.

Those offended by your band's version should probably be more put-off by these guys wearing those leather pants at their age.

  • mime

  • Wow, this IS an old song! good though,

thanks David for sharing it with me.

    xx

  • BEAUTIFUL SONG. THANKS FOR POSTING IT

  • hi,

I was in this show, sitting in front of the Boys. I toured with the Boys a couple of years, made their world wide Fan-Club. It was a fantastic time!

I see them in Cologne in March, I saw them the last time 99!!

They still great, and....I miss Alan a lot, he was such a fantastic guy! Allways friendley.....

  • do you know if dave frayer still sings with them?

  • No Davey is no longer with the Tremeloes, i quess since 3 Years now.

  • does anyone know what kind of cancer alan had?

  • thanku for this wonderful version dont they look great miss alan so much

  • Lip-sync or not--Brian Poole and the boys had a great hit! The kids now are wearing the hair that we did in the 60's--we were original--they are not!!

  • Don't be sour toward the new generation deckape1956 be happy! If you didn't create "the hair" personally ...then YOU were not original either! You should also feel lucky kids find your generation cool. Feel proud not angry. Peace!!

  • Great. A performance with the late Alan Blakely. Thank you!

  • Have you ever seen them perform live? I seriously doubt it, they are absolutely fantastic playing live.

  • Yeah, they were one of the best "live" bands of the 60's. BTW: we used to say "groups" instead of "bands" back then.............. Still very good these days, but Chip is sadly missed from the present line-up.

  • I concur. Fryer came close but Brown's no Chip soundalike at all. Interesting that Munden is doing the majority of the vocals now.

  • This vedio is o.k but its seem like 17.5 Flim per second online.... hahaha :)most properly ve to redo in atleast NTSC 27fps , Thanks...for posting :))

  • thank you so much for this again :DDD

    love this song
