@RUASandRUTTENftw I'm not taking anything away from Overeem as I think he is a best but you do realize that Overeem's Pride record was 7-7? He does hold a win over Belfort but besides him, his other wins in Pride were not against top guys. Every time he fought a top guy in Pride, he lost. However, that was a different division too. After getting into "horse meat" he moved up to heavyweight and dominated ever since. But the UFC will be his real test.
Hold up, he is talking so good about Henderson, who DID fight "real" fighters (Nogueira, whom he lost to two times, Rampage, Silva, whom he also lost to), and the only legit fighter he beat was Bisping, and that is kind of pushing it. He beat Wanderlei as well, who was complete trash at that time (he was only good in Pride, pre-surgeries)

He agreed to fight in a weaker promotion against weaker opponents because it was SAFER!
I challenge you to find another heavyweight in mma that made the mark that Fedor did, beat that many former champions, went undefeated for so many years etc. Even if you concede that some of the people he fought were bums after 2005 (former UFC champions not included), the point is still valid. There is a reason why almost every fighter out there agrees with this, not just media.

The heavyweight division has only recently become strong in MMA. It's quite likely that Cain or JDS will surpass Fedor soon, but they simply haven't had enough fights yet.

During that time, the HW division was like what the womens division is like right now. My guess is that the real issue Dana has with Golden Glory is that he doesn't want to get a snowball rolling. He doesn't want some foreign management showing U.S. guys how to get paid. They don't want unions.

He does hold a win over Belfort but besides him, his other wins in Pride were not against top guys. Every time he fought a top guy in Pride, he lost. However, that was a different division too. After getting into "horse meat" he moved up to heavyweight and dominated ever since. But the UFC will be his real test.

I challenge you to find another heavyweight in mma that made the mark that Fedor did, beat that many former champions, went undefeated for so many years etc. Even if you concede that some of the people he fought were bums after 2005 (former UFC champions not included), the point is still valid. There is a reason why almost every fighter out there agrees with this, not just media.

Anderson Silva is the best p4p fighter, ever; Fedor is the best heavyweight, ever. Every fighter loses it at some point. Some fighters, like Hendo and Randy, are late bloomers and last a long time; others, like Chuck, Fedor, Minotauro, and Cro Cop, fall earlier. The heavyweight division has only recently become strong in MMA. It's quite likely that Cain or JDS will surpass Fedor soon, but they simply haven't had enough fights yet.

@VEGETADTX I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, fedor was good in other organizations, but when in comes to MMA Gods like anderson silva, he has NO chance, hell he wouldn't even beat cain, brock, crawin, mir, and a lot of pretty tough HW's. He's not out of his prime, he's just fighting real competition :)

Anderson Silva is a natural HW who spent his career at MW and still struggles and still gets dominated and even beaten by 3 of them. Those are all FACTS(no disrespect to Silva himself).

He never fought Gegard Mousasi, Paulo Filho in MW.
Not to mention the fact that he is actually a natural HW(101 kg - 225lbs) who pretty much spent his UFC career in MW.
I stand behind my words, without disrespect to Anderson Silva himself, I believe he is the most overrated fighter in the world bar none.

@enesog dana white himself said that he didnt think fedor was ducking anyone, his management handles that. i love fedor, but i can also say that he WAS the best p4p fighter, hes past his prime. everyone says hes 35 hes young, not everyone is the same and some peoples primes come later or earlier. his management team is horrible. even fedor said he doesnt care about his legacy or who he fights, its about the money.
