Hi, I know you've had this video up for a long time but...
Are you in Australia? I am looking at cold air intake system for my lancer CE2, is yours A ce2 1.8L? Where were you able to purchase the air intake system from?
@Hamster3127 No I'm in the US. It's a 2.0 but you could do it to your 1.8L. Just look it up online and you will have a bunch of options to choose from.
@RJDGGG86 he means a cold air intake which goes into the bumper/fender well. Some cars can have that but some cars can't. This car can if it is a manual transmission. Automatic transmissions for this lancer just takes up too much room.
your actually losing power, not gaining it. your sucking in warm air from the engine. warm air particles are farther apart. u want cold air, those particles are close together making you suck in MORE AIR which equals more power. if your gunna get an intake get a actual cold air intake.
For the automatic lancer the only thing you can get is a ram air intake. Our transmission gets in the way. Also it gives low end torque but also gives up top end which to me doesn't matter because it's really cold outside so its w/e. lol
@Sk8erEray123 ur wrong. this engine aint a v6 or 8 for it to get that hot as u put it to suck warm air in. these engines stay cool enough even during summer. its a 4cl car after all. plus the engine isnt air tight, there is plenty air coming from many areas of the front. i have a similar pod. infact since the change, took back an extra .75 of a second over 0-100 run. Not having a go at ya, but simply commenting on the basis that i own a similar intake, and very happy w its performance.
You do know this is an old video right? And if you're going to tell me that it needs to be in the front bumper it isn't possible with the automatic versions unless i relocate the battery or do a tranny swap. Look at the newer video to see the position its in. This video I took was like forever ago.
nice..i tried puttin one on my wifes car and the freaken cell came on and i know i did it right because im not a noob at workin on cars. so i just took it off and droped a K&N
Well I never had a CEL problem. Never have gotten one on any of my mods so I guess it depends on the car and if the MAF is clean or not. Did you reset the ecu?
yea i did everything i could think of but dont really care much all it has is a custom exhaust with stock cat..now my other car is another story :)..theres some vids of it i made a while ago if u wanna see
I have the same intake wow... Ebay 40! not saying this is the same one just saying it looks like it. And well didn't come on for me either. So you should be ok in buying one.
The coupling between connecting the throttle body is stiff, but now the intake is repositioned. Check out my Mitsubishi Lancer Rev video, that is where it is now. I have a bracket made by my dad so it doesn't move.
Well I have it moved over next to the crankcase/valve cover. So now if I did get the vis evo hood for it. I would endanger my car into waterlocking when it rains.
Well it was considered that from the company due to not enough room for a cold air so thats what they called it. lol I kno its a ram but i just put it as "cold air" due to the companies name for it. Thnx for being positive =D

get rid of this.

where u buy da intake at?
mexicospimp88 2 years ago
does it matter if u have a heat sheild for the intake
hitman1o2 2 years ago
Does your check engine light come on? I wanted to get an intake, but if the CEL light stays on then I wont.
doober640 2 years ago
Nope it doesn't. Just make sure you use you're stock MAF sensor.

This isn't an ebay one, but still the only difference is the filter quality.
lilg00b 2 years ago
ayy how do u make your intake stand in place it like falls on its side ...how u made your stand in one place?

do you have to removed your car battery before installing intake or no??
andrius113 2 years ago
You don't have to, but you should so the MAF sensor doesn't get messed with and the ecu will reset to get used to the intake.
lilg00b 2 years ago
If you get a vis hood with the vent right there, it'll work pretty well.

Well I have it moved over next to the crankcase/valve cover. So now if I did get the vis evo hood for it. I would endanger my car into waterlocking when it rains.
lilg00b 3 years ago
Are you still using the stock hood?
dblackviper2k3 3 years ago
Yes I am still using the stock hood. I have an aftermarket evo 7 grill though.
lilg00b 3 years ago
It's been quite awhile since I last looked at this, but I have repositioned the intake to a place that suits it better. I'll have a new vid up soon.
lilg00b 3 years ago
lol man that's a short ram intake. :D looks nice though.
