@strutzulescu True but in the last years France has used the legion mainly as a peacekeeping force which is a change from what the legion was used as before. And anyone who joins the legion today will mainly train, train, train see a little combat and then train some more. I heard of legionaires that served for five years and never saw combat.

Apple an oranges not to be compared to each other. FFL as a force is way tougher than most armies out there. But the SF units like Seals and SAS and so on are probably alot more hardcore than FFL in avarage. I don't know how hard the 2:ieme REP is but it should be the equivalent to Rangers or something like that.

@MikeKay1978 The rep is regarded as a cousin regiment of the sas and is one of the few regiments to be found within sas clubs.also certain legion regiments have special units wich are full of ex sas, seal, g beret, spetsnas etc etc
