  • fine one!!great work,very enjoyable!!

  • Once again, this just amazes me as you're doing all of this on the V-drums! Makes me wonder if I could have done anything like this on my old TD-7 before they were stolen. Astonishing work!

  • @Xformat01 Thanks a lot! Yeah, when you put the headphones on (gotta be very isolating ones, where you can't hear the outside world with them on), and you play the TD-20's, it feels like an acoustic kit, even the cymbals. I think it wouldn't quite be the same feel on TD-7's, but still... if you just pretend you're playing on acoustics, I bet it would sound good. The TD-20's are only better (I think) because of the feel of the drum heads.

  • @egyokeo You're right in that the Roland TD-7s were all little 6 or 8 inch pads with very rigid heads. Once you get used to it, it's sort of ok, but nothing at all like a real oil-filled drum head like I have with Tama Mahogany shell Royal Star kit. The big problem that I ran into with the TD-7 is that the pads are all so small. You literally have to be nearly perfect when playing an aggressive style of music.

  • @Xformat01 that sux they were stolen :((((

  • nice. i sang without instrumental for this song. XD

  • @EmilieJune nice job! watched your video. I think it's amazing you and a select few people can sing this song. I don't think it was sung the way it is on the recording. I can hear the digital edits on the voice so I know it was "mostly" sung, but the crazy parts had computer help to manipulate the voice. So, it's incredible that mere humans attempt to cover it!

  • @egyokeo thanks i have fun with this song. i think you're fantastic! i could never play drums. no coordination for that. watching this video mad me smile

  • awesome!

  • Watch the special edition of 5th Element and watch some of the behind the scenes and director commentary. The director point blank says her voice wasn't electronically altered or altered at all for this song. That is just her and her vocals doing it. You will find several recordings here on YouTube of women doing the same exact vocals with no electronic alteration or overdubs.

  • He does do it in sections because the top left tom drum changes sound -3 but still… Amazing!

  • @MRtSAM1 Thanks! Yeah, I used a single camera. So I did 4 takes from 4 different angles. Then just cut between them in the video editor, keeping the drum track in sync with whatever camera angle I chose.

  • i like

  • Amazing drumming!

    Good job!

  • good work

  • wow that's awsome. good job with the editing too. how long have you been playing the drums for?

  • how do you dao that double bass thing eith only one foot at 0:24

  • you should upload an mp3 of this

  • Uooooh! Very cool!!!

  • Bravooo, that was very good

  • what a nice kit

  • that was really good !!! XD

  • sooo goood.

  • It's a very marvellous idea to make a drum cover to this song. Beautifully done!

  • oh man, this is so good.

  • Very nice

  • i can play so, too!!! But I think, you have to buy some new ( german : Becken)

  • impressive! is that the TD20 model?

  • I hope thats not your doll house and pink bear in the background @ 1:15 lolz

  • it's his kids, that he's mentioned.

  • is that the 5th element soundtrack? very kool

  • I think this style of drumming is so cool.

metal drumming has nothing on this.

  • wowch xD that is cool

  • Super Green!

  • Best comment ever!

  • Beast!

  • I LOVE THAT MOVIE!!!! I remember. cool drum cover though.

  • amazing.

  • This song is very epic.

  • cant you do some metal?

  • :O I was just telling a friend she needed to see the fifth element and I come to youtube to see this! Its a sign! Anyways, great cover! I loved it

  • cool! nice kit

  • this is a kool song and all but do a song i fuckin know!!!!!!!!

  • this is your best one

  • The soundtrack sounds just like that girl! :P

  • Kind of annoying when drummers like Lars Ulrich are making so much money when they have less than half the talent this guy has.

  • I know he is a good drummer, but he is extremely over rated. I'm not saying throw ghost notes and paradiddles etc into thrash metal, but most metal drummers are very innovative, Lars Ulrich isn't. It's just the same beat/pattern over and over.

  • different style. You can't compare heavy metal to jazz. If you couldn't tell Egyokeo is a terrible metal drummer because that isn't his style.

  • I'm not saying that, what I said was drummer like LARS ULRICH get paid so much with less talent than him. The main reason being is that he's not innovative in the slightest. Inferno from Behemoth or Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater are both different styles, but both drummers innovate, Lars Ulrich doesn't.

  • You're still missing the point. Thrash metal has and probably never will be complex. While progressive rock/metal and jazzy stuff which is played here is VERY complex. We don't know the full extent of Lars talent because of the type of music he plays.

  • u got the point

    i make ur words mine

  • Luc besson is a joke

  • 1:20 UBER TEDDY

  • do rush songs PLEASE

  • Sick double bass drum and video edditing at the end!

  • these kinda drum covers are really freakin cool. good job keep it up!

  • Holy shit man! You're freaking amazing at drums!

  • What were you thinking Egyokeo? you could've just hooked THESE up for Rock Band and Guitar Hero xD anyways, very nice cover and I know this song from The Fifth Element.

  • he did

  • the fifth element is such an awesome movie, great casting and screenplay.

  • You're putting up a lot of videos lately, and every one of them is awesome. Keep it up! ^^

  • nice, i love how the drums just flow with everything else, perfection. fancy camera angle switches keep things interesting (as if there was a boring moment in there). i definitely wouldn't mind more of these, me thinks u FCd it =P.

  • omfg ur drumms are the coolest drooms ever...love the black cymbals

  • dude keep making these type of videos ur a rly amazing drummer keep at it

  • O wow...this song is from 5th element

  • 1:07 to 1:15 = the sexiest thing ive heard all day!!

  • i dont really know how electronic drumsets work, so like how do you switch sounds on the toms so quickly, like when you hit it its a cymbal but then another time you hit its an actual tom

  • I think the edges of the toms are cymbal sounds.

  • @EndOfEverything: Sorry, I downvoted you by mistake when I wanted to upvote you (you can't modify your votes here :S). I'm pretty sure you're right, you can trigger the tom edges as whatever sound you like, for instance cymbal sounds.

  • I love Luc Besson's flicks myself, such artistry behind them. Fifth Element is great, but my favorite has to be a toss up between The Big Blue and Leon.

Thanks for the awesome cover, as always ^^

  • you are, in all honesty, one of the best drummers on youtube. the way you hit the drums is like.. perfect

  • That double splash into a drum fill at 1:07 is so sexy.

  • Awesome!!!

  • This video defines the word "epic".

  • Outstanding job as usual Eric. You're so talented it's unbelieveable.

  • how much was that drum kit?

  • How do you change the tom sound while you play? O_o

  • you hit the rim and it makes a different sound than the head

  • he hits the rim of the tom instead of the mesh

  • He programmed his set so that when he hits the rim of the toms, they are different sounds. One of the beauties of electronic kits =) It's up to the drummer what sounds to use for each, but in egy's case, he uses different splashes for his left and right tom. A good example is at :51, you can see him hit the rims of both toms with two distinctly different splash cymbal sounds.

  • This scene in 5th element is so fucked up :P

    but awesome drumming as always.

Wasn't it a pain to edit together 4 different recordings? did you just have set parts you always played the same which you could use as transition?

  • i remember that scene. good movie though

  • iWinxtehxinternets, it wasn't too much of a pain editing 4 recordings. I played roughly the same area of the drumset for each part, so I just lined them all up, and cut in the one I wanted at pretty much any place and it just worked.

  • holy shit

  • Oh man, that was sweet!

  • wow nice job

  • thanks man hey man can you help me by subscribing to me please

  • the fifth element is the shit.

  • hey thats from that one movie!!!! =o

that i cant think of at this moment

  • This is wicked drumming man.

  • nice drum-along

  • i think im the only one who notices the stuffed animals in the video but d00d your awesome

  • I liked Gary Oldman in this.

  • I liked Gary Coleman in this.

  • I like Gary Oldman in anything! He was awesome in Leon (The Professional), another Luc Besson film.

  • great use of different camera angles here =p

  • the fifth element was a weird film

    i like it though tbh

is this the song during where the weird alien lady is singing it on stage?

  • short and sweet

  • I would kill for your technique.

  • hey what genre of music do u like

  • the fifth element is such a dumb movie... holy shit... the book was dumb and they somehow managed to butcher it

  • PEDOBEAR!

  • Oh how did i know Pedobear would be there...

  • nice bear behind you

  • Sweeeeeet.
