I am actually really suprised that American people still have not forgotten the Chernobyl incident. After 9/11 the Americans and the rest of the world was mourning and very sad but I think I speak for alot of non Americans that we felt America forgot everything else in the world after the first 9/11 anniversary. Between 2008 and 2010 it is believed that the radiation effects will peek at its worst. Great video. My thoughts of American people now are not that bad.
Hi I suppose I am your english counterpart as myself & my wife are involved in bringing children from the Mogilev region of belarus. It is nice to know others care too.
Our family is sponsoring our first child from Belarus this summer and are so excited. Thanks for making such a great video- it makes us more excited - what a great experience for our family!
Thank you all for your kind words. We all agree that helping others makes us better people but I always found a way around it. Hosting Natasha profoundly changed my life resulting in a kinder, better and more sensitive Beitz Family. I hope Natasha receives just a small percentage of what we have gained. We're learning that fussing about our Country, our environment and how busy we are just isn't as relevant anymore. Find someone needy and help them TODAY, then watch what happens to you.
Chernobyl was and still is a disaster. But these people are blessing other. Blessed are the mercifuly for they shall obtain mercy. Thanks for making a difference in someones life.
well there went "i don't cry at these things." it's so awesome that this little girl had that opportunity! i'm glad there's something in america remembering these kids - i'm 21 & only learned of the problems caused by chernobyl after breaking from school for health reasons & had time to actually learn about what i want to. this is totally amazing! and now i've got the song stuck in my head - it was "my song" for awhile. awesome video!
This Video just brought me to tears....In a world where all we seem to see and hear about is the worst in human nature, this video has showed me yet again that even in the face of terrible events we can come together and spread love and compassion.
i have viseted bellaruse they afr verry need nation iv lived with famlies and had children stay with me and my family throuh a charity called medicin and chernobyle ilove the people of bellaruse and will never forget them ror ther nation gulia hughes
well done, keep up the good work!A young girl from Mogilev stays with us every year in England. If the men in power could help Belarus instead of building bombs and killing people this world would be a much better place!
We get Children of Chernobyl on the holiday park where we live. They come to stay or visit the Isle Of Wight. I'm From Northumberland, we got the Atomic cloud over us. It rained down on the hills, and went into Cumbria affecting the milk supply. I remember watching the Local news telling us to stay in and keep the windows shut. I was young then, but it was very scary time, and still is. My heart goes out to all the families and children affected by this. Keep up the great work.
oh yes i got that, its just in the video it said that Chernobyl is in Russia, i just wanted to clear that up. and it is very nice what was done for thouse poor kids. i think as i start a family one day, i definatly would want to do that.
Interesting vid and sad.
